Current customer rating:
Don't know where to start with this car. This was the November 2009 HOT ROD magazine cover car. as you can see in the main photo.
You cannot park or drive this car without turning heads and having people taking pictures of this car.
It's an Factory Five Racing Hot Rod kit. based on a '33 Ford. built in 5 days with a plethora of FFR friends. Links to videos below. It's flat black with a gloss black center section. with red pin striping by Bruce “The Brush. and signed on the underside of the decklid by all the folks who helped build it.
The drive train is a Ford Racing 347 crate motor that made 415 hp with a Holley and it only weighs 2300 pounds.
Trans is a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed that was rebuild about 1000 miles ago.
Rear is a Mustang 8. 8 with 3. 73:1 gears in a limited-slip. Wheels are custom from Rushforth($7500) with Nitto NT 05 r radials.
In addition to the magazine and SEMA exposure this vehicle has had. it's a legitimate performer. Runs the quarter-mile in a very traction-limited 11. 8 at around 122. Put slicks on it and it'll be deep in the 11 s. But its most valued performance deal is on an autocross.
I have taken this vehicle to button willow 1 time and it handles as good as any car up to $100. 00.
It'll tear up whatever you put it against. and has done so already. including at the Goodguys Street Machine Nationals where they didn't talk about it because it was a competing magazine's car (PHR covers that event pretty heavily). And that's on 200-treadwear street tires: put it on real track tires and it's “unleash the hounds. ” The suspension uses inboard Koni Red coilovers in the front and FFR's 3-link in the rear with Koni coilovers.
I currently have the top off as it's more fun to me driving it this way. Either way this car is unbelievable.
This won't win a car show based on cleanliness since I've driven the wee out of it. since that's what this car is made for. don't get me wrong. she's a beauty. but she's been driven.
The interior is bare. with only a Racepak UDX dash. the FAST monitor for the EFI. a hidden master kill switch. and nothing else. No heat. no air. I do have an i Pod connected with amp and 6. 5 Kicker speakers for your listening pleasure.
It has a very customized cooling system that keeps the car cool.
It is registered as a CA smog exempt 2010 Hot Rod
The sound of this car is truly one of a kind. I have changes 6 mufflers to get the perfect rumble that is loud but not annoying.
If you're looking for a hot rod that draws attention wherever it goes and hauls major ass. this is her.
