This used to be a hardtop Fire truck in Germany but was totally disassembledand rebuilt as a custom vehicle to be more useful and versatile.
The following work was done over the years:A bigger engine. 2. 5 Liter with 7 main bearings instead of the stock 2. 2 with 5 main bearings was installed. The engine was completely rebuilt. balanced and blue printed. It was installed with a new clutch and all otherexternal components were either replaced or rebuilt at the time. Brakes were also re done. the entire chassis was painted. A Flowmaster Exhaust was installed along with a rust free battery box and new batteries. A Swiss Army Unimog Bed with tool boxes and tail light fixtures was also installed. Please look at the three older photos to see that job which at the time did cost over $ 9000. 00 !
The truck has electronic ignition and civilian spark plug wire conversion installed. The batteries are good and the seats have been re upholstered recently. Tinted. Laminated Safety Glass windshields are also installed In the rear a custom standard receiver hitch is installed. Fog Lights on the front bumper as well as a large flood light for work are installed.
The 2. 5 Liter engine makes a huge difference in performance and cannot even be compared to a stock Unimog 404 S. The stock engine has 82 HP and this fresh engine has well over 100 HP. No Smoke. no leaks of any kind. This Unimog will cruise easily at 55 + Mph with a top speed over 60 mph. It always fires right up.
Transmission shifts well and the truck is fully operational including brakes and 4 x 4 components.
It could use attention to the following items:The wood in the bed is dry and should be replaced Paint is faded Several smaller. usual rust spots (no holes) under both headlights and under the drivers side door handle No headliner Tires are dry and should be replaced for extended highway driving Minor wiring work to be checked for tail lights and blinker. Boot for shifters needs to installed (New Boot included)
