For auction on ebay is my 1968 Plymouth Convertible.   Less than 1700 were produced in 68 and these 68-70 B body convertibles are getting harder to find.   My Convertible looks like a GTX from the exterior.   If your looking for a convertible without the big price tag of a real GTX.  this may be the car for you.   A lot has been done to the car and I will try to remember everything done to the car recently and explain below.   This should answer most of your questions.   This is a car I had intended on keeping.   I've always wanted a black convertible.   This particular car is Black with red interior and red GTX stripes down the side.   Also has a new convertible black top.   The car runs and drives great.   Please read everything below to get an idea of what has been done and the condition of the car.   I am listing the car on a no reserve auction.   Highest bidder will win the car.   Having said that the car is actively for sale and could sell at any time.  Great car for the hobbyist. collector or collector car broker/seller.    Please ask any questions after reading the entire ad.

Body-  This is a rust free CA car and is extremely solid.   The floor pans on this car are flawless.   I did have the center trunk floor and extensions replaced due to several pin holes.   I could have patched up the pin holes but decided to just replace the pans so everything looked nice.   Professionally done and looks great.   New 2 month old black paint job.   I have over $7500 into the body and paint  and it looks great. The car is very straight and looks amazing in person.   I have spent the past 2 months assembling the car.   The car is one of the most solid convertible B Bodies out there.    The exterior has new wheel lip mouldings. rocker mouldings. mirror and convertible top.   The top was installed yesterday and has new back window. new weatherstrip. new top pads. new well liner and I also have the convertible boot when the top is down.   The top has new latches as well.

Engine- The engine is a date correct 1968 383 HP engine.   The motor has about 800 miles on it since rebuilt.   It runs very strong and starts every time.   It has a mild cam (. 470 lift). rebuilt 906 heads with hardened seats. high volume oil pump. all new accessories throughout.   New starter. alternator. carb. distributor . gaskets. etc.   Everything on the motor is new to ensure reliability.   Since completion of everything on car and all new accessories the car has about 10 miles on everything.     Has new reliable edelbrock 600 carb with the factory style air cleaner and 383 pie tin. Motor runs. sounds and drives great.

Transmission- Rebuilt 727 with new torque converter and all new fluid.   Shifts as it should with correct 3 piece kickdown linkage

Driveshaft-  New U Joints. nbsp; speed balanced and greased

Exhaust- Stock manifolds  to 2 1/2" brand new exhaust installed 3 days ago.   New stock style "turbo" mufflers with new tips out back

Tires/ Wheels-  15x7 Stock steel wheels with new BF Goodrich tires

Brakes- Brand new shoes. wheel cylinders. power brake booster. master cylinder and brake hardware.   Brakes completely gone through and bled with all new fluid.

Suspension- Professionally rebuilt suspension with new shocks. ball joints. upper and lower bushings and strut bushings. new idler arm and tie rod ends as well

Fuel system- New gas tank. sending unit. grommet and ground strap.   New fuel hose and fuel pump with fuel filter into a new edelbrock carb.   Entirely new fuel system.

Electrical- New engine wiring harness.   Lights. turn signals. original "BEEP BEEP" horn. wipers. wiper washer. flashers. markers and convertible top all operate as they should.

Misc-  Has new rechromed rear bumper and original front bumper.   Grille is very nice along with tail lights.   Nice original door handles and door locks

Interior- New seat covers. carpet. convertible top. dash cap. and trunk mat.   Has original front and rear door panels that do have a few blemishes.   Interior is Red in color and really stands out.

Weatherstrip-  All new weatherstripping throughout the car including doors. trunk and convertible top.

Underbody- Underside is very clean with no rust.   Underside has been cleaned and looks great.   Has about 10 miles on car since completion so still very clean underneath.

So as you can see a lot has been done to get the car as you see it now.   I am having trouble with my internet service this evening and will add more pictures tomorrow when I get it straightened out. Moving to slow to download them all.   Please check back and I will have all of them up. The car does still retain the original fender tag. All the straps holding the wire harnesses have been replaced. All of the decals removed have been replaced with new decals in the correct spot. All new accessories under the hood and on the firewall as well.

*Please serious bidders only*  This is a no reserve auction and will be sold to the highest bidder.   It will be on a 5 day auction.   Please have all approvals PRIOR to auctions end.   If you are awaiting a loan. please find another car to bid on.   I've been down that road before.   Please make sure you can keep to all my terms below before deciding to bid on my car.   Thanks

Overseas bidders are welcome

*Terms*

Buyer to pay NON refundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auctions end.   Balance to be paid within 5 business days of end of auction.   No exceptions unless agreed prior to auctions end.   No exceptions!  Buyer to pay for balance of car with cash in person. bank wire transfer or bank cashiers check.   All checks will be held 5-7 days before car is release.   Bank wire transfer is preferred as it is safest for both of us and also the quickest.   Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.   I will help load the car and help obtain quotes if you need them.   The car is sold as is. where is. no exceptions.   The car is sold with a clean California title in my name.   I am currently awaiting the title back from DMV but I will have it within 2 weeks.   If you are a CA buyer the car has no fees and has current registration and tags.   Also CA buyers if they don't want to wait for title . we can do a paperless title transaction no problem.   I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason.   I am an active seller when it comes to selling a car.   That means it will be listed other places. and through word of mouth.   A lot of times my items don't make it to the end of the auction before selling.   If this car makes it to the final day it will be sold for whatever the highest bid is. no matter the price.   No B. S and no relisting.   This is a real auction.   All I ask is please only bid what you can afford.   I need to sell the vehicle and the buyers will determine whatever market value it has. not me.   This is a great opportunity for a new owner to get a great deal on a mopar convertible.   I know the amount I have invested into this car will not be recouped and you get a car with all the hard work done.   Also. 3rd party inspections and any other inspection is welcomed as long as it is done prior to auctions end.   It is your responsibility to ask questions and determine if the car meets your satisfaction.   I will answer all questions promptly with an accurate description as best as I can as a hobbyist.   This is a great car but is not a national show winner or show car.  It is something you can be proud of an enjoy at the local shows or drive ins.   If you have any questions. please ask away!  Good luck!

On Sep-19-13 at 09:59:25 PDT. seller added the following information:

I incorrectly said the extensions had been replaced as well.   They are the originals. I just had the center trunk pan replaced.   Sorry about that.   Also. only 779 convertibles were produced according to an email from someone who had the production numbers book.   Thanks!

I've had lots of questions on price and whats been invested.   I have over 30k into the car.   I stopped counting all the nickel and dime stuff it took to get to this point. It will sell for highest bid no matter what the price is.   This isn't a car you will readily find out there.   Look around. Then come back and see everything that's been done to this car.   Rust free 'verts are extremely tough to find.   I spent 3 years looking for this car as I didn't want a rust bucket to start with.   Paid 12k for the car as a running/driving solid convertible before tearing it all apart to get to how you see it now.
