This is a 100% all steel traditional hot rod. NOT a Rat Rod.
It was done all right. The body is a 1930 Ford tudor sedan. chopped 4 inches. and channeled for inches over the frame.
The frame is a Pete & Jakes 1930 Model A frame with a dropped I-Beam Super Bell front axle. safe yet so-cool front disc brakes with hairpins in the front.
Ladder bars in the rear hold the Ford 9-Inch rear end with coil-over shocks.
The rearend has highway gears allowing the car to snort down the Interstate at 80 and not breathe hard.
The engine is an authentic 1953/54 era 264 Buick Nailhead completely rebuilt with Egge pistons and components (punched . 40 over so it's about a 5. 0 now we estimate).
Carbs type – 3 x 2.
Center carb is brand new.
1 and 3 have Charlie Price bases on them.
Vintage Speed/Charlie Price Linkage and finned and polished air cleaner housing.
Headlights type – Original vintage lights and housings with guide lights converted to LED blinkers.
Rims - our best guess is WWII era Dodge military rims
Top - Little Dearborn wood Model A kit. with a custom snap in and out black vinyl sewn cover.
Keeps the sun and most of the rain out when needed.
Transmission turbo 350 with a mild race kit
Custom one-of-a-kind punched aluminum grill insert (Lake City Rod and Custom)
Cam - mild cam built by Nielsen Cams.
He also did the rockers.
Visor – Original Ford from the car. punched out.
Body – All 1930 Ford steel
Floor - professionally fabricated all steel
Paint – Rootbeer Bronze professionally prepared and painted by Mr. V's Professional Body Shop in Brookings. SD.
Interior – black vinyl pleated
Top – Textured snap on black vinyl
Glass – All new
Seats – Front - Aluminum bombers with upholstered bottoms and great patina
Seats-Back-Fold down bench style padded and upholstered
Distributor – rebuilt stock
Alternator – Actually it's a Powergen alternator (looks like a generator)
Headers/Baffles – Side dumps with removable baffles
White whites – bias. tall and skinnies.

Windshield wiper motor installed and wired.
Cool BLUE light out front.

Gauges - All Stewart Warner black face with motor-turned surround.
The hood that you see in the "unpainted" picture is included as well.
It is painted.
I never got around to putting together a good fastening system.
This isn't an off-the-shelf hot rod with a bow-tie engine.
EVERYBODY turns and looks when this car pulls into a show. or is just tooling around town.
Respect.
Issues with the car.
None.
We just drove it two hours to a show. and two hours back.
It ran like a champ.
Minor tire wear marks on the body from before I put the correct spacers on.
Live and Learn.
Lots of other details almost too many to mention.
Look at the pics.
This isn't a plastic reproduction with a small block 350 Chevrolet.
This is American automotive history painstakingly put together.
I have too much stuff.
Sadly this one needs to go to a good home.
If you have ANY questions please
You will be responsible to pick up the car. or have it transported. and any and all costs associated with it. including insurance.
Good luck!
