Wife said need garage space for her car. in her words. now! This mature adult driven car really brings on the thumbs up and being a mild custom it brings on questions galore! If you like chatting with other car lovers or hearing their favorite Corvair story. this is the car for you! Eyecatching Artic Ice pearl overall and lapis blue heavy boatflake edged in House of Kolor black gold pearl means you'll see her even at car cruises in Main Street. Old Skool!  This car is a 1965 but has some 66 and up changes. Wedding ring taillight lenses for instance. The front trunk opens by a cable setup from a later car such as in the 80's. Works great! The 1966 110 case with . 020 oversize new pistons and rings and 1965 high compression heads runs out really well. Stock 110hp cam.   The Corvair 6 sound is unlike any other engine out there. This one starts right up and runs smooth with healthy torque through the single exhaust and has been to both coasts and back with nary a problem. It does have a very slight "mark my spot" Corvair leak. It never shows on the dipstick.   The 1962 Holley 2bll 350 CFM carburetor allows tuning to specific altitude very easily. Electric choke. electric fuel pump. new fuel level sender. No leaks in tank at all. Heater works well also. The car will sell with the original carbs. air cleaner. and throttle shaft in case you would like to return back to the original two carb balancing act.   Also included will be a 67 and later Corvair master cylinder new in the box in case you would like to update. Also included will be a correct "319" distributor with Petronix ignition and a new Clarks Corvair front airdam. same as used on Camaro. Many folks have asked if this car is a Camaro. and indeed it does have the same muscle car stance on the black pearl GM steel 15" wheels. The pearl black gold cove and front with the bowtie centered in blue makes a statement this IS the heartbeat of America. The brakes are perfectly operational. no leaks. pedal is firm and solid. Bearings are good on all four corners. Red Ryder gas shocks. Handbrake is updated to the later diameter cable and is nearly new. The tach in place of the stock Monza clock location is a Sun Pro and works perfectly. 60Mph and the tach sets stable on 3000 rpm. At that speed the car will offer 20mpg all day long. Interior is done in lapis blue crushed velvet with very soft arctic white vinyl to match the exterior rally panels. The comfy front seats are 88 Subaru which will berth flat and the rear folding is from an 84 Cadillac. Headliner is free of rips or tears. Seams good. ALL gauges and lights work as they should. The Pioneer stereo with two speaker in back play "California Dreamin" like the first day you heard the song. The Powerglide transmission in this car has the modifications to be exactly the same as the rare "orange splash" versions used in the 65 Corvair 140hp PG option. The upshift under full throttle will allow the engine to run up to 5200 Rpm which really helps on entry to the freeways. Downshift is stock. no changes in MPG. Tires are in tread I would have no fear to drive them across the country.   All glass is good. windows roll up and down as they should. The body appears to be unhit however a daily driver car of this age will not be perfect. For this reason I would say the car is an upper level daily driver but one you can enjoy as I have for several years. Paypal Deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close. Clear title includes NM bill of sale. I do have this car advertised on local venues so if the reserve is not met and a buyer outside of E-bay sends me the funds I reserve the right to immediately cancel this auction. Don't loose out! Balance due within three days. Here is my offer to the buyer that meets the reserve and is the winning bidder. We all know shipping of any car is expensive these days. travel one way to pick one up is also not cheap (usually). I will deliver the car to your driveway if your willing to pay my gas one way and the tow dolly fee from zip 87571 (Taos NM) to your location. I will tow with the front tires on the pavement. steering wheel locked in place. so no damage is possible to the car or driveline. Miles traveled least distance will be determined by Google maps. On the 13th thru 17th of this month I am on a business trip to the San Fransisco area. If the lucky winning bidder is on the way the car can be delivered on that trip. If to other locations we'd have to delay until after then. but in no condition would delivery be later than December 1. All you pay is the gas (my truck averages 12 mpg) and the dolly fee. Going into Canada we'd have to talk about Customs charges. Sale to Old Mexico is not available. please don't bid unless you are a serious buyer because I am already in the doghouse over my 60's time machine. I have been delaying the sale as long as possible.
Bid with conviction and get this car! Ask questions. I'll do my best to answer. I will also post relevant questions and answers for all to see.

On Nov-08-16 at 07:47:52 PST. seller added the following information:

I've been asked about trades and end early. sorry to say. no. cannot do that. There is a small rust hole in the trunk at the lowest spot. I presume it was because the front seal was either missing or damaged in the past and water seeped under the original mat. It is about the size of a silver dollar. There is bodywork and not perfect. so again. the car is a daily driver. 50 years old and should not be expected to be showroom new. If it were the reserve price would be at least in the middle five figures as other Corvairs of this vintage have sold for recently.
All Corvairs are rising in price. more especially the late model 65-69.
Anyone that has owned a perfectly restored (or original untouched) car of vintage suffers from not being able to enjoy them on the great American road. I know this because I've owned such cars and they become garage queens or sold off at high end TV auctions. For some this is what they do. This car is one that one intended to enjoy driving and not intended to be under a microscope for concourse perfection.
Corvair bloggers are generally not harsh on deviating from dealer showroom condition. yet still appreciate those that do choose to have perfect restorations. and that is why this is a great car to own. It's different but very well supported. Want a midships CadillacNorthstar in your Vair. great. lets see the swap photos!  How about a supercharged 3. 8L V6? Fantastic. bring her to the next CORSA.
Just a reminder too. the CORSA Tri-States gathering will be in Taos New Mexico this Summer. If this car does not sell I intend to put it in dry storage unit and wait until the Tri-States. then put a for sale sign in the window priced for at least a grand more than the reserve set here. Here's your chance to beat me to the punch.
