One of the most desirable muscle cars ever- 1970 Chevelle and the top goes down on this one! Really clean body and floors. It has a healthy 454, runs and drives great.

EXTERIOR: The body is a strong asset to this car. I believe it to have clean original metal. Bottom of the fenders are clean, the lip under the doors is crisp, quarters are original. It is straight and it fits real nicely. Sharp looking black cherry paint, it has a smooth glossy finish. The white SS stripes are painted on smooth to the touch. It has very desirable cowl induction hood with working flapper. Upfront the bumper, headlight bezels, emblem, grill, lenses look close to new. The mirrors, door handles, emblems and wheel well moldings have been replaced. In back the bumper was rechromed and has the SS pad, new tail light lenses. Door jambs are painted nice, the weather strips were replaced. The SS wheels are painted nicely with excellent trim and reproduction Wide Oval tires. The windshield looks new. The white convertible top is power and in very good shape.

INTERIOR: A pearl white interior not only looks cool but it stays cool. The upholstery, door panels, armrests and carpet were all replaced. Driver's seat has some wrinkles. Dash pad is excellent, the instrument panel looks new, heater controls are nice, vents are new. It has original AM radio (not hooked up). New Deluxe steering wheel. is a factory The center console is in good shape with a new Hurst 4-speed sticking out of it. There are 3 digital gauges mounted below. It has a complete set of GM seat belts.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 454 motor with aluminum Edelbrock intake and a big dual feed Holley carb on top. It has an MSD ignition with Pro Billet distributor, Blaster 2 coil and Superconductor wires. It also has a set of headers. Dressed up with some aluminum valve covers, the front of the motor has March billet brackets, pulleys and serpentine belt system. Chrome 1 wire alternator, chrome power steering pump. The brake booster and master cylinder are chrome. Upgraded aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keep it running cool.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very impressive clean, original metal. To find a convertible with a trunk floor as nice as this is rare. To find a 70 Chevelle convertible with original quarter panels is even more rare. I did not see any splices. It's been sptter painted. It has a spare and jack assembly. Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted real nice.

UNDERSIDE: The front end was rebuilt. Replaced bushings, springs, shocks, ball joints etc. It has the F-41 suspension which includes front and rear sway bars and boxed rear control arms. New shocks in back. The dual exhaust has Flowmaster mufflers and the SS cowbell chrome tips. It also has electric dumps right after the headers. The brakes were redone, has discs up front. Hoses and lines were replaced, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Fuel tank, straps and sending unit were replaced. Bottom of the motor is clean Chevy orange, has a high torque starter with a heat wrap. It's a Muncie 4-speed transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. The floors, rockers and braces look to be really clean metal. Painted smooth satin black.

What a great way to enjoy life....shifting gears with the top down in a 70 Chevelle with a 454!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.

About Volo Auto Museum

No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.

Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.

Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn't have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else's.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately $1500 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn't sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
