"THE 1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE

YOUR FINEST INVESTMENT IN TOMORROW".

Biography of this beauty:

Ordered in 1960 by Hugh and Janet G***.

She was then delivered to Bill Pierre Ford in Seattle Washington and taken delivery of by Mr. & Mrs. G*** in the summer of 1961.

About Mr. G***: He was born on Feb. 26, 1934, in  Des Moines Iowa, to parents Hugh S. and Irene G***. His family soon after moved to Seattle, where he was raised and graduated from Queen Anne High School. Post his high school graduation he joined the U.S. Navy where he became a decorated Naval Aviator.

In his adult life, he was an outstanding pilot and owned and operated his aviation company, for many years. He loved flying but he also loved being a cowboy and was very good at it. Along with his love of flight and being a cowboy, one of his PRIZE possessions was his 1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible. He and Janet could be often be seen driving with the top down and that cowboy hat on!

I acquired her from a dear family member who did not have the time to get her where she is today.

"A true investment asset that you can enjoy".

New paint and body work from Ryan Inc.

HOUSE of KOLORS paint code: U01/BLACK

Prior to paint, her chrome trim was all removed re-chromed and hand polished.

She was taken down to the metal (by hand) NOT by sand blasting. I was amazed at how perfect she was under that faded paint. She spent well over 90 days in paint and body. "No need to rush perfection".

Then we began by degreasing the metal to remove contaminants left over from the stripping process. The metal is then treated and coated with zinc for superior corrosion resistance and better adhesion of the subsequent paint layers.

Primer was the first layer of paint. It is formulated to fill tiny scratches and imperfections in the body and give the subsequent color coats something to adhere to. Unlike the drab gray primer of yesteryear, we used colored primer to hide future damage from rock or stone chips.

The base coat, or color layer, was the next in the process. In the past, this was the final layer of paint, which was directly exposed to the environment. We then applied clear coat paint over the final color layer. (Clear coat is a layer of paint without color pigment added-it is simply clear paint. The clear coat adds high gloss while protecting the colored base coat from scratching, chipping, and the effects of the environment.

Finally....Her paint is thick and smooth as you can see in the photos.
