1980 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

You will look for a long time before ever finding an older Mercedes SL in this condition. I acquired the car about five years ago from a lady that owned the car for years. Below are listed key features of the car:. Low mileage. 66k. All original . Excellent body. no rust or rust repair as the car has been stored inside and not driven in bad weather.  Original paint in great shape. Convertible top is three years old. Hard top included . Interior in excellent shape. no indication of smoking.  Leather seats show signs of normal wear.  . Pirelli tires with plenty of thread remaining
Negatives:< /div>The air conditioning does not work. I never looked into repair as I drive the car with the top down.  There are two small "dings" in the back bumper.  I would describe these as less than half the size of the tip of your small finger. The radio is original. gets a limited amount of stations. and sometimes has static. The car takes about 10-15 minutes for warm up in order to achieve peak performance including rapid acceleration.  This may be due to early design of the fuel injection system or early electronic ignition or it may be an adjustment.  The canvas top has about a 2 inch "fraying" of the coping at the bottom on the driver side. This was caused by it catching on the edge of the storage compartment. It does not cause an interior leak. The exhaust system is original.  A mechanic at a German car repair shop recently stated that he thought there was several years use in the exhaust remaining as heavy gauge metal was used originally.  A heat shield around the cat converter has rusted through.  The mechanic called this insignificant.
