1940 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan Manual Flathead V8 Blue for sale

1940 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special. Rebuilt 346 8 Cylinder 140hp Gasoline Engine. 3 Speed Manual on the Tree Transmission. RWD.
Body Number 4131 indicates it was made the 2nd week of December 1940. as 4242 bodies were made that year.
Car Equipped with:
Original engine (4324408) 346 ci flat head V8 completely rebuilt
Original Push Button Radio (not working)
Vacuum Antenna (rebuilt 2008) works beautifully
Directional Signals - standard equipment (1st year)
Deluxe Heaters:
2 Under Seat & 1 Under Dash - defroster
1 Under Seat Heater is missing
The other has new motor; defroster is working orginal
Dual sidemounts with keys and locks. The sidemounts have been added. They were an option and these are the absolutely correct covers. but there are no welled fendersor spare tires.
Factory grill guard
5 Coker 4" whitewall tires & new tubes (7. 00 x 16)
Interior:
Speedometer & all gauges work. Speedometer rebuilt (2008) shows 48. 11 as of today. Speedometer was not changed in rebuilding.
Steering wheel: recast (2008) also shift knob matches
New Clutch. brake & gas pedal covers. also thru-the-floor grommets.
New sill plate (4) - previous restoration
New upholstery: headliner. front & back seat. package shelf. carpeting & trunk carpet - 2008
Heater: under seat. new motor on right side works fine. Left side heater missing completely.
Defroster: separate unit under dash. new duct hoses - works fine
Directional lights: switch/system repaired and new flasher installed (not self cancelling in 1940 - first year)
Window cranks : all 8 work - cleaned & oiled (2007)
Ceiling light works by opening right rear door or switch left centerpost
Throttle lever on dash works oiled & adjusted (2008)
Cigar lighter on dash - not working
Clock - not working
Interior chrome: all original and in great condition
Body: Painted during prior restoration. no dents. Antionette blue (midnight. non metallic blue) acrylic lacquer. Paint has some hairline cracks and spider webbing on car. but it looks great from 8' away.
Trunk lid: new correct rubber gasket (Steele) 2007
Undercarriage: Paint wigh "POR 15" A polymer coating that lasts forever.
Engine & Mechanically
Engine compartment detailed (2010)
Engine rebuilt at time of previous restoration
Generator: Rebuilt 2004
Starter: Rebuilt 2004
Fuel / Vacuum Pump New (NOS) 2007 (6 V electric pump with dash switch
Carburetor: rebuilt in 2007 (Stromberg)
Distributor: Gone through. both centrifical and vacuum advances work fine; new points. distributor cap. condenser. coil. spark plug wires. rubber spacers and spark plugs (plugs: Auto Lite 308)
Radiator: Flow rate checked 2008 - OK New radiator cap: 7lb
Battery: New May (2007) - 6 V heavy duty (positive ground) and new battery hold down. New ground straps (correct 6 v heavy duty) to frame and starter housing
Regulator: works fine. replaced with a new one in 2004
Engine compartment wiring: good condition. some terminals replaced
Brakes: Master cylinder rebuilt. new brake cylinder & hoses and some brake lines. Also new brake linings.
New exhaust system at previous restoration. New rear muffler 2010
New hoses: both radiator & heater hoses replaced using correct original type clamps
Belts: in fine condition: replaced 2004
Vacuum lines: metal brake tubing replaced 2008
Windshield wiper: vacuum motor rebuilt also new arms & blades
Exterior Chrome:
Replated at prior restoration - some replated in 2009. Upper door frames are original. Chrome vent window frames are original in great condition with no pits or rust.
Engine starts fast (6 Volts - not a problem) as it has new copper heavy duty wires from the battery to the rebuilt starter. It runs and drives well. as the engine is tuned and the wheels are aligned and balanced. The Cadillac is a very impressive looking car; the combination of the side mounts and the (non-metallic) dark blue make for a very expensive look. and set it apart form other cars of the era. For judging purposes. this 1940 Fleetwood 60S is considered a "Classic Vehicle". The car is in #2 condition. as there are some hairline cracks ad also some spider-webbing in the paint. Nevertheless. the car was still awarded an AACA National First Prize in 2011 by a 5 judge panel which attest to the overall neatness. correctness. and completeness of this car. there is some discoloration of the glass at the bottom of the driver's windshield. but it is not in the line of vision.
