1970 Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator

(please read thru whole ad completely
the story behind this cars mileage is Legit  and there is at least
1 other Boss owner from Tucson in the Boss Registry
who grew up with me and knows the whole story about this car too)

NEW PICS ADDED OF THE CORRECT MOTOR and REAREND INSTALLED

1 of 2. 67 Eliminator Cougars made in 1970

No need to explain how Rare this muscle car really is.
I do have the Marti Report too on the car.
The cars history I think is as interesting as the car is.

This car was originally sold here in Tucson at Selby Lincoln Mercury
In 1980 I bought this car when I was still in high school
how you see it in the pic below

The owner before me barely drove the car and when
he did it usually was at the dragstrip. hence him having
to rebuild the motor in 1979. When I bought the car
it was a BOX A title ORIGINAL MILES and I know for a fact
it was. Tucson back in the 70s and 80s was still a small town
and this car was never out cruising the streets with all the
other hotrods at the time. I found out about it because I had
another Eliminator at the time while still in High School.
The paint in the pic above was original while the previous owner
started doing primer on some spots where the paint needed work
from the Az sun. Removed from it when I got it and in the pic was the
original drivetrain. The original Boss motor was mildly
built and sitting on an engine stand. and my plans where to go
back next month and buy the drivetrain from the seller.
I went back a month later and he had sold it to someone else
here in Tucson.
(Since the last time I posted this on ebay. the owner of the
motor for this car I believe has been located on one of the
Cougar forums. so maybe with a little more investigation
the original motor can be had by the new owner)

The car was barely 10 yrs old and did most of its life as a 2nd car
visiting the local dragstrip from time to time. It had 32. 91 on the
odometer at the time. the seller confirmed it was original and
Az title also confirmed it. From 1980 till aprox 1995 I owned the
car and I never found the original motor I was hoping to put back
in it. But I had nothing but time and was in no hurry just to drive
it. I had plenty of other Muscle cars to drive over the yrs.
I tried to keep it covered as much as possible trying to keep the
interior from getting the typical sun damage. I also put vaseline on
all the dash and door panels every few months to keep the heat
from damaging it. I opened up my performance shop in 1990. and
needed some more cash to put into my expanding biz. so I sold
the Cougar to a person in NC.
In aprox 2007 I contacted the gentleman who I sold the car back in 93
After some negotiation. I was able to buy the car back from him
and the car came back to Tucson and has been stored inside since.

(the guy I sold it to started some restoration. He  painted the outside
of the car. factory color. new carpet  and stored it in the back of his
shop inside. the mod to the dash is easily reversible.
He too NEVER put a motor in it or put it back on the rd. the mileage
is exactly the same as when I sold it to him. )

100% of the sheetmetal is all original. and Id venture to say 80%
of the car is still all original Ford parts including the bushings
suspension. glass. interior etc. All but the motor.

DRIVETRAIN:  I tracked down a running Boss 302 motor a few yrs
ago out of another 70 Boss Eliminator . I set the motor in the engine
bay and also put in a 9" N case rearend drum to drum with hwy
gears. Its about the most accurate rearend for the car and works
well.  I havent found a good toploader yet. but they are not that
hard to find these days.

INTERIOR: New carpet. but the vinyl seats. door panels and dash
are all original. Wouldnt take much to finish the interior.

EXTERIOR: New Grabber Green paint is nice. but even over the few
yrs of it being pushed around and moved. it got a few scratches
here and there but Id call it driver quality. Dont think its been
wet sanded yet. Fixing the paint wouldnt be hard where its been
damaged. Some of the panels need to be adjusted too and the some
final assembly required.

This car is 100% rust free Arizona car
The guy I sold the car to back in 93 never put it in his name
and lost my original title showing the ACTUAL MILEAGE to be correct.
When I re applied for an AZ title in 07 I couldnt get the Box A title
confirmation  for some reason. I have pics of this car with me back
in the 80s.

The cars not fully restored of course but Ive had it back now almost
6 yrs and not sure if Ill have time to get to it. Trans Am inspired
cars like this model values are back on the rise.
I dont have to sell it. but for the right price. I dont mind seeing
it going to a good home. and make a little space in my garage.
Cars like this come along far and few between.

Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection. so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

The car has never been in an accident and any bondo on the
car is extremely minimal. door ding type stuff.
Some of the front panels are loosely bolted on which is why the
gaps in some areas look off.
The back window was removed during the paint process and still
not installed yet. I was waiting to install a new headliner first.
Ive owned a few Cougar Eliminators. all 70s.
There you have it. probably The BEST represented Cougars on Ebay.

Shows you all the good as well as any bad. hope you appreciate them.
We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows.
People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale
and even if you have to pay shipping to your area. it still beats
paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end.
Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days
speaks volumes.

Also. if you buy a car thats been "restored". who knows what sort
of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating.
People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are
fast. for a quick buck and quality suffers.

Our auctions have NOTHING to hide .
Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know
exactly what you have in the end.

Email us with ANY questions before you bid please
