YOUR LOW BALL OFFERS WILL BE IGNORED! If you only have 15 k then shop in that price range please. Not the 20 k price range. I've had enough rude people making these offers!!!! Here is your blank canvas! This truck started its life in the Pasadena, or Burbank, CA fire department. Which probably explains the lower miles on the odometer (around 50 k) and the rust free body. And the old CA plates. It probably spent the first 25 years of it's life inside the station. I was also told that it was a movie prop for several years and had a few coats of paint on it for that reason, which does add up since that's where a lot of movie studios are. That must have helped to preserve the metal too. It has been taken down to the original layer of red paint, where they found the Fire Department logos. Now it's back to about its original color. It is 100% rust and rot free and a great foundation as is or to turn into a classic hot rod. The panel lines, doors, hood, everything lines up real nice for a 72 year old truck. Just take a look. Overall the truck is unbelievably clean, dry and straight. The paint is fresh and not just a cover-up for rust. It's not a perfect paint job by any means, but it is a very, very presentable paint job that will stay nice for years to come if taken care of. There is one run near the right rear door hinge that didn't get sanded out, there are a few little flecks of dirt here and there, and a touch of orange peel. I believe that another good color sand and buff would really make it look nice. The color is cayenne red taken from 2011-2019 Porsche Cayman. It was painted at LV Play Toyz in Las Vegas, NV. That's who I bought the truck some months back. It is also titled in NV. I was told that it had 2-3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear. I can only go by what I was told though. But there is a good amount of paint on it. The body is extremely straight and the inside of the truck is super clean. I believe the wood floor in the back is the original factory wood because there is no evidence that it has ever been removed or replaced. I've putted it around several times over the months as I decide which way I wanted to go with it. It currently has the original 216 motor and 3 on the column. There is a small crack in the outside of the block that seeps at start up and shut down, but after running for a bit it gets warmed up and expands it does stop seeping. No water gets into the oil though. I check regularly. I have only added 1/2 gallon of water in 4 months, so it's a slow seep. It runs, drives, starts off the line and shifts and stops as it should. It also comes with a running 235 motor and a 4 spd. on the floor manual trans. that decodes from a 53 truck. It has the original 6" x 16", 6 lug wheels, poly tires that must have tubes in them because they are a little checked but hold air fine. I haven't added air since I've had the truck. The valve stem style sort of look like the tube type, so that's just my assumption. I had thought about putting a 2-3 carb setup and all Offenhauser goodies on the 235 and giving it that 53 corvette blue flame theme, just to bring some deeper chevy nostalgia to the truck. But I'm actually more of a Ford guy. So I may let this one go. If it doesn't sell here within a week or two I probably will keep it and go that direction. It is located in N. Tustin in Southern California. I go between there and Phoenix every couple of weeks so I could transport it to the Phoenix Valley free of charge. Looking at what some of these other people are asking $20 k for, especially places like Street Side Classics and the like, or even on Hemming's, this is a very fair priced truck for it's condition. There's a 48 ford panel listed here for 22.5 k that is, in my humble opinion in nowhere near the condition this one is. Take a look at the pictures, ask questions and go from there. I can send more pictures if you like. I am out of room here and neglected to show the engine bay and could only get a few pictures into the fender areas. Just let me know what you'd like to see and I will take some and send them to you. This is a fixed priced sale only. No auction, no reserve, just a simple classified ad. NO LE$$. The ONLY trade I would consider would be a 1948-1972 ford pick-up or a 1960-1965 Ranchero in good shape that would bring equal value. A trade up or down would require one of us to put cash into the deal. I'm not opposed to that. Please, no junk, rusty vehicles or major projects. Images
