This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback is an absolutely stunning example of a true Mach 1 that is believed to have spent its entire life in the South. The Mach 1 was a performance-oriented option package that was a variation of the Fastback body style, now called a "SportsRoof" Coupe. With special painted striping along the sides and along the rear spoiler, the Mach 1 is easily identifiable. Mach 1 Mustangs also came with hood scoops, bucket seats, competition suspension, and much more. This particular Mach 1 Fastback comes to us out of South Carolina and before that it is believed to have spent the remainder of its life just north of the border in North Carolina. This 1970 Mustang Mach 1 was purchased new on February 25, 1970 from the Lee Motor Company in Sanford, NC. Under the hood on this 70 Mach 1 is a 351 Cubic Inch Windsor V8 Motor with an upgraded Holley 4 barrel carburetor that drives the rear wheels through a Positraction Rear End. The 351 V8 is mated up to an Automatic Transmission with floor-mounted shifter, ensuring that anybody can drive this powerful muscle car. Dual Exhaust gives this Mustang a throaty muscle car sound. With Power Front Disc Brakes and Rear Drums, this Mustang has plenty of stopping power. Power steering also makes this 1970 Mach 1 an absolute pleasure to drive. This Mach 1 has been beautifully refinished in Calypso Coral, which really makes this Mustang stand out in a crowd. The Mach 1 painted decals are a reflective black (i.e. appearing white in photographs) and look excellent. Sitting on 4 245/45R17 Radial Tires on Rally Rims, this Mustang Fastback has a great ride and an even better look. The interior on this Mustang looks just like it did when it rolled off the Dearborn, Michigan manufacturing plant floor on January 29, 1970 (one day ahead of schedule). The black vinyl bucket seats are in fantastic, like-new condition and are correct for the car. The dash, wood grain steering wheel, and door panels look great as well. This Mach 1's instrument cluster is in its stock configuration and is equipped with a fuel gauge, water temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, amp gauge, and speedometer.
