PROBOX arguably the most recognized Impala on the planet. This is the car that turned Troy Trepanier into Rad Rides by Troy.
This car set the hot rod world on its collective ear at the 1990 Street Machine Nationals where it was named grand champion and b y the end of 1990 it had graced the covers of CAR CRAFT. SUPER CHEVY. POPULAR HOT RODDING and who doesn't still have the centerfold of the September 1990 HOT ROD magazine hanging in their garage.
In the December 1990 issue it was on the cover again being named HOT ROD's car of the year.
Soon after. the car was stashed into a private collection in the southwest.
I acquired the car six years ago in great condition. but after eighteen years it was in need of some love.
I instantly began the hunt for the original fuel injection as the previous owner had changed the induction system.
After installing new brakes. new suspension bushings and new shocks the car was ready to go back home to Manteno.
Troy and the craftsmen at Rad Rides installed the fuel injection. the Big Stuff 3 and other items to bring it back to original 1990 specs but only better.
After a couple of years. the decision was made to blow the car back apart at Rad Rides and a stunningly perfect cosmetic restoration utilizing the best base/clear paint products available was completed along with replacing weather striping and anything else that was needed.
The term museum quality is not wasted on this car.
If you have any questions on the collectibility of this car grab a copy of the January 2008 issue of HOT ROD as it was named #52 in the top 100 most influential hot rods of all time.
Since the restoration the car has been street driven less than fifty miles and there is not a nick or imperfection anywhere on it.
But be confident that this car will fly down any interstate in the country right now.
Cars like this don't come along often and it is with great hesitation that I list it now but with increasing time constraints I just do not have the time to enjoy it.
