I have a clear Texas title.
According to Peter Filby's book 'TVR Success against the odds' this is one of 76 Mk4's ever built. and it is equipped with the SE engine. in as far as I know stock configuration. very lively performance. a charming and capable potential vintage racer or road car. As far as the engine build. I don't know what has been done. certainly has a cam. a Mallory distributor. some head work and balancing. very happy to rev right up to 6500rpm maybe beyond. I have not tried.
The car is in great overall condition. the previous owner was a highly skilled engineer with very high standards. he rebuilt the tubular space frame chassis. applying Hammerite enamel as a protective coating. the front shocks are fully adjustable built specifically for this car by Penske enginnering. The paint work has a few minor scratches here and there. nothing serious and the paint still shines beautifully.
Alloy Magnesium wheels. including a spare. new road tires. spare front and rear screens. and a few other spares. springs. light fittings. and so on. I have a manual for a TVR Vixen which is useful. (I have never found one for this model) 3 racing log books from RMVR. together with articles I have found on the web. some receipts and so on.
As I live in Houston. we had to address the cooling system to ensure that the car will run 'cool as a cucumber in the height of summer'. so she has a high capacity radiator. and a high output cooling fan produced for early E type Jags. In addition the exhaust system was custom manufactured to try and prevent the usual TVR trick of ripping the system to shreds when driving over a cigarette butt. let alone a Houston street. Success on both counts.
I have also rebuilt the differential. aside from that she has not needed anything- that is today of course but this is an old British car with Lucas electrics. so
I bought her to race. but I have and race regularly a Morgan plus 4 and a Lotus 7. so the old girl sits in the ware house with my Morris Minor. and other ongoing projects so it is time for her to find a new lover.
I will be happy to assist in shipping. but this remains the buyers responsibility. I will keep the car for a reasonable time while shipping arrangements are being made.
She runs beautifully. see (youtube. com/watch?v=i7KMguMq5Fc) very rare. perfect for any vintage racing group in North America. or of course Europe.
My reserve is realistic please feel free to ask questions. and make arrangements to come and inspect the car before the end of the auction. Not afterwards. I can advise of shops that can do this on your behalf and your cost too.

Hey was browsing and saw this ad from some while ago I think. I used to own a 67 Mk4 1800S from 1969 to 1976. Great car and was looking for another. I'm based in the UK and these models mostly lost now. Would love to know if you come across another for sale. thanks
