1929 Ford Model A for sale
1929 Model A roadster on 32' frame. Originally built by Peter Eastwood in the early 70's at Blair Speed Shop. It was then sold to Vince Bartalone and was driven many miles in the Socal area. I purchased the project from Don Small in Prescott Arizona and completed the frame off rebuild in spring of 2016. The rebuild was put back in the simple style from when Peter built the car as seen in Rod & Custom in 1974. I kept the main features of the car very similar to the original build but painted and detailed the car in 1932 Ford Tunis Grey with a black frame and maroon interior.
This car has many rare parts from it's original build. The front hairpins were built by Eastwood at Blair Speed Shop using original 1932 Ford wishbone yokes and hand made batwings. The car also retains it's original Auburn Dash and insert housing vintage Stewart Warner 2 5/8” gauges. The dash dates back to when the body was an AV8 that raced on the drylakes in the late 40's by Sherwood Laroach. The windshield and stanchions are the originals that Peter chopped for the car. The grill shell is the original that was filled and peaked with lead from the original build as is the grill insert. The all aluminum louvered hood top and sides is from when Vince finished the car in Yellow Pearl. It has a hand formed blister to clear the header tubes and uses postwar aircraft latches on the hood.
The main details are as follows:
Engine: 1963 327ci 340 hp Corvette. all standard bore with original 11:1 forged pistons. standard steel crank. 340 hp heads. Duntov 30/30 64-65 camshaft. corvette oil pan. large damper. Edelbrock C4B intake. Holley 650. Mallory Dual Point. Cal Custom Valve covers. Zip's Drive water pump. mechanical fan. and edelbrock air cleaner.
Transmission: Lakewood Scattershield. Muncie M20 wide ratio 4 speed. Hurst Competition Plus shifter. Clutch is a Ram diaphragm with a Hays Billet steel flywheel. Clutch linkage is mechanical.
Front Suspension: Original P-wood hair pins. 5” dropped and drilled 33-36 ford axle. 37-41 round back spindles. 1939-40 chrome backing plates. 46-48 drums. F-1 Steering box. F-1 style shock mounts. tube shocks. posies rolled and tapered reverse eye spring. P&J shackles. and original 1932-34 spring perches.
Rear Suspension: 1958 Ford Station wagon 9” housing. 3:00 open rear. 28 spline axles drilled to 5 1/2” bolt circle. chrome backing plates. Chrome P&J ladder bars. Socal rear shocks. Model A rear crossmember and Spring. P&J shackles.
Frame: Original 32' rails with ASC front frame horns. and ASC rear kick ups. Partially boxed with Socal Model A front crossmember and original Model A rear crossmember. P&J motor mounts. Tubular middle crossmembers and Duece Frame Company Pedal assembly and transmission crossmember. Car has full length headers and stainless 2 1/2” exhaust and stainless mufflers. Frame is painted in single stage black urethane paint.
Body: Original Model A cowl with Brookville back half. All steel body painted in PPG base/clear 1932 Ford Tunis Grey paint. Original Auburn dash and insert and Stewart warner gauges. Limeworks 3 spoke leather wrapped steering wheel. Glide seat. all panels and seat done in maroon leather. 39' tail lights. 1932 headlight bar modified for hiboy. 1933-34 commercial headlights in tunis grey with halogen conversion. Walker radiator. Centech fuse panel. Socal headlight switch. 10 gallon speedster style gas tank mounted in trunk.
Wheels & Tires: Original 16 X 3. 5” V860 front wheels with 4. 50/475-16 firestone blackwalls. Rear wheels are 16” X 6” Wheelsmith 40' style replicas with 5 1/2” single drilled bolt circle with 7. 00-16 firestone blackwalls. Wheels are powdercoated gloss black with maroon pinstripes. 1946 ford hubcaps.
This car was built to be a high quality driver. It was driven from Knoxville TN to LA roadster show and back in 2016. The road trip was featured in HOP UP magazine Vol 13 no 1. My intention when I built this car was to build a fun reliable driver. I have put about 6500 miles on the car and it has some chips and imperfections from using is but it is a very nice car that is tried and true and looks great doing it.

The last 5 photos are of the car in Rod & Custom in 1974. and when Vince Bartalone owned the car when it was yellow. 2 of the photos are when Vince won the Stroker Mcgurk award in Pleasanton Goodguys in approx 1984.
