In the 40's & 50's this inexpensive light weight auto weighing 2. 06 lbs w/no side or rear windows was the car of choice to modify for linear hi-speed & fast acceleration upon vast lake beds.

This dual-role Dry Lake Street Roadster was built to its' current late 40's era configuration by ace-engineer. two-time world land-speed record holder & 200 MPH Club Member Butch Philips.  All efforts have been made during restoration. safety & engineering upgrades to retain this vehicles signature of "stout simplicity". while preserving the most formative years of hot rodding.

MERCURY V-8 “FLATHEAD” 59a / 296 cubic inch displacement w/ 2009 integration to the current Stage II NATO Military Spec French Bare Block.   Est. Horse Power = 200+


INTERNAL (Eng. ):

BORE: 3 5/16 in.

STROKE: 4 1/8 in.

PISTONS & RINGS: Ross.

RODS: Eagle.

VALVES: 16 valve Standard.

PORT MODIFICATION: Polished.

CRANKSHAFT: Mercury.

CAMSHAFT:  Potvin 400.


HEADS: Edelbrock.


COMPRESSION RATIO: 8. 5:1


CARBURETION: 3 ea. 2 barrel Stromberg 97's.


MANIFOLD (Intake): Edelbrock.


IGNITION: KONG "Championship" Distributor (archived for preservation) w/ 2009 integration to the current 21A “Crab Style” electronic ignition update.


CLUTCH ASSY: McLeod 10. 5 in.  clutch. pres. plate. billet alum.  flywheel / Constant-running throw-out bearing.


TRANSMISSION: Muncie 4-speed / M-22 “Rock Crusher” / Hurst Competition Plus shifter w/ 2012 integration to the current T-5 Borg-Warner 5-Speed manual shift.

ADAPTATION (Trans. ): Offenhauser.


DRIVE SHAFT: Mongrel - Ed Moore Drivelines. / Spicer u-joints.


EXHAUST:

MUFFLERS: Stainless Edelbrock RPM Series Tru-Flo.

PIPES & “W-TYPE” HEADERS: Jet-Hot Coated.

LAKES PIPES (sides): Electric / remotely operated.


SUSPENSION:

FRONT LEAF 6 ea.  GT2 w/ Nyoglide inserts perched on 4” dropped axle.

REAR COIL-OVERS suspended on 9" Ford 3:73 rear axle gear differential.


BRAKES:​ FRONT: 10” Disc / REAR: 12” Shoe.


WHEELS:​ 1941 FORD DISC TYPE – STEEL.

FRONT: 14 in. x 6 in. / REAR: 15 in. x 8 in.


BODY / CHASSI:​ BABB (all steel body) / TCI (custom boxed frame).


TOP: ​Composite hardtop (light-weight / lift-off Carson Top).
