1966 Ford Ranchero ute (LHD) Project

Ive owned this Ranchero for just over a year. and whilst i have done a little to it. i just don't have the time or the skill set to finish it without spending more than i have been told is allowed by the minister of finances. So regretfully i am looking to sell her.

I am open to a swap plus cash my way for the right Ford (no Holdens or Vals). preferably an XE ute or sedan (must be auto with powersteer). I am wanting something that is a going car. not another project. 6 or 8 cylinder will be considered. Let me know what you have and i can see if it is what i am after. Nothing newer than 1985.

Ok about the Ranchero. it is a 1966 left hand drive ute. based on the Falcon of the era in the US. it was originally a 3 spd manual. and someone in the US converted it to a 3 spd floor shift auto. but did a bang up shocking job. So i have sourced a 3 spd column shift column (needs to be fitted. as it is just sitting on the shaft at the moment). fixed the brake pedal box (now an auto one). and have replaced the brake master. I have the wheel cylinders and shoes and machined drums and wheel bearings (all still in packets) ready to fit. but as i mentioned. time and skills prevented it all coming together. As it sits. it has no brakes.

Body wise it is quite good for a 50y/o car. i was never going to touch the body. it was going to look as is. but all new underneath. It does have a bonnet. it is just off at the moment. The windscreen has been removed as it was rather useless.

The interior is all there. the door card on the drivers side is a bit crap. but it does come with. it has brand new Knox auto carpets ZB black carpet. the bench seat is in great nick. and it has new lap sash belts. There is a new hood lining as well that came with the car. There is a spare set of door cards from a 66 Fairlane that are slightly different but could be made to fit.

It is running a 289 windsor. which as far as i can tell is original. but i can't be 100% sure. it runs quite fine and has a new fuel pump. I have a set of extractors that will come with it.

Overall in the rights hands i can't imagine it would be a huge job to get it on the road. as i mentioned. im not that person. and i don't have any time unfortunately.
