Check this out!  Australian Built and complianced 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo built to 924 Carrera GT specifications using mostly genuine parts. One off car!

The car's previous owner assures me this car was built in 1981 from a new Porsche 924 Turbo shell supplied by Hamilton's Porsche in Melbourne. Apparently the car is based on one of the 15 genuine RHD 924 Carrera GTs sold new in Australia in 1980. also silver in colour. The GT was somehow written off in its first year. and all salvageable parts were transferred into this shell. The Carrera GT was the roadgoing version of the lightweight 924 GTR and racing GTS. Only 400 were built. and only 75 of those were RHD. The GT's model designation was 937.

The shell is complianced as a 09/81 924 Turbo. and features the optional highly desirable pop up removable metal sunroof. These were not fitted to the Australian 937s. Motor is based on the 924 Turbo block built to 937 specifications. Original 937 components include upgraded turbocharger and intercooler. larger brakes. 7 x 16 and 8 x 16 "Fuchs" forged alloys also shared with 930 Turbo. contoured velour seats. 4 spoke steering wheel. original widened front guards and spoiler. lighter bonnet with offset scoop (feeds intercooler). lightened rear glass with spoiler. rear guard 'blister' flares. low restriction exhaust. and other modifications. Is unpickable in looks and performance to genuine 924 GT.

A genuine Aust delivered 924 GT will set you back the best part of $75. 00. this car can be yours for under $20K.   You couldn't build one for that.

Unfortunately do not have any more history or paperwork with the car. it is what it is. Mechanically it's A1. paint and body are good. front seems to have had minor tap. has not quite properly gone back into shape. easily fixed by someone who knows what they're doing.  Would benefit from a good service as last driven over a year ago. Dry stored in my car museum since 2003.

Interior has some wear on velour on driver and passenger front seats. nbsp;dash has usual cracks. some carpet wear. steering wheel needs some repair. rest of interior is good.
