History. This is what i've learned. Originally constructed at the Solihull Factory for Electrical Contractors. it was eventually sold to Iver Wilde a Landrover Dealer in Alberta. and a huge Landrover enthusiast. I bought it from him about 8 years ago and drove it home accross the Rockies. looking back it was a dangerous trip but the truck got me home safely. Once home I had it worked on by Don Macdonald Rovalution. Alan Roverworks and thats it. Both excellent mechanics with Landrovers as their specialties.

Main usage: Besides big road trips We used the truck for school runs and cross country skiing access where nobody else could go:) It is a goat off road. and I paired it with nasty X chains which make it basically unstoppable. But for Adventures of a longer duration we kitted it out with hot water on demand. a full sized roof top tent. a kayak. cooking gear and a few kids toys and we were set! In that time we have driven from Vancouver Canada to Belize and back and then again to Inuvik and return. Those were the big ones. but there have been many more besides.
This is a truck of a lifetime and will do you well.
PS I almost forgot to mention
It has also created an income stream. allbeit a small one. as a Movie truck. It comes with its own Agent. Paul at Reel Cars. who represents the vehicle to the movie industry. It has been used recently in the block buster Tom Cruise action film Mission Impossible 3. The agent comes with the truck if you wish.
Also notable is it has been very recently selected for publication in Landrover USA. Cool!

A note about the door tops. they ALL come off. the front window tilts down and the top comes off with very little work. It can be an open top quad cab Defender 130. Thats pretty cool!
This truck has an eight year history with me and I have driven it many thousands of miles from Inuvik to Belize. Its a superb original heavy duty purpose built truck originally constructed for electrical contractors in the UK. It would make the perfect work truck or expedition vehicle. Importation and shipping is solely the Buyers responsibility. Accessories incl tent. racks or bars are not included in the sale. The Landrover Defender and the Landrover 127 are essentially the same vehicle. renamed for marketing purposes only. Ebay recognizes the Defender but not the LR 127 thus the title of this post.
