UNIQUE 1953 Dodge Power Wagon. Former Military/Fire Department Truck. ALL STEEL! NO RUST HOLES. Surface Rust yes. in spots. 7. 00-8000 lbs in weight. DOES NOT HAVE A VIN. HAS AN MER: MER 5 ER 80254059. . HISTORY: This is what I know. This truck was a Military Vehicle from 1953 to Approximately 1985.
Then the Hackensack. Minnesota Fire Department obtained it and painted it red for Obvious reasons. (I say approximately. because I have NO documentation of this.
I was informed that the Hackensack. MN Fire Department had the vehicle for approximately 12 years. ) I have a Bill of Sale from the Chief of the Hackensack Fire Department dated 1997 in which he sold it to a citizen of the town.
I purchased from a Private Citizen of Hackensack. Minnesota.
When the Fire Department Had the auto. the Factory Motor Went Bad. The Fire Department put in a 360 CI. 4 Barrell with a 727 Torqueflite transmission and cherry bomb mufflers. The Individual I purchased it from was advised by an employee at the Fire Department that they believed the engine had 50. 00 miles on her when installed. The exact year of the engine is not known. but if you insist. I could pull the numbers from it and figure it out.
. This is all speculative. Bottom line. I do not believe the 32. 00 some miles on the odometer are correct. but could be for the body. NOT THE MOTOR. This MOTOR RUNS GREAT and this TRUCK IS a Work Horse. She is geared very very low. Not a great Highway Truck but will pull and haul a load and in 4 wheel drive will roll over alot of rough terrain.
The interior bench seat is not ripped or torn. The front windows tilt forward at the bottom. The driver and passenger side windows roll up and down. doors open and close securely. Tires have alot of tread on them. Just put in a New Battery and Air Cleaner. Oil Recently changed. This truck is a Unique workhorse with some known History.
Will Include all paperwork.
