Up for sale is this mildly outrageous Pro Street modified 1976 Corvette Stingray finished in Bright Blue and Black Leather. This isn't your run of the mill '76 C 3. This is a '76 C 3 wrapped around a professionally prepared and fully dressed engine built to run with the big boys on Saturday night and cruise the car show circuit on Sunday afternoon. It's nothing short of rolling art work for the gear head set.

This final year Stingray T-Top coupe chassis has an original 75000 miles on the clock. The matching numbers engine is long gone so if that's what you're looking for move on to the next listing. This car had already been prepped for action when the current owner bought it in 2000. QA 1 adjustable billet aluminum shocks and custom coil overs up front QA 1 adjustable billet aluminum shocks and mono leaf composite spring in the rear dramatically improved handling and reduced weight over the stock C 3 setup. Beefed up rear spindles and Spicer solid u-joints are installed all around to handle the extra torque off the line. Upgraded SSBC aluminum brake calipers and stainless steel brake lines are there to haul it all down at the end. Curb weight was further shaved by converting it to manual steering and pulling the AC off the car. This car sits empty well under 2400 pounds.

The power plant and driveline had also benefited from the previous owner's mild build. Starting with a normally aspirated crate 383 stroker motor with quality upgrades all around it was built up to 400 hp at the crank. Billet serpentine belt drive. MSD Digital ignition and billet distributor electric fan cooling. Ceramic Headman Headers up front. Flowmaster mufflers and a 2 ½” exhaust out back. The upgraded and reinforced turbohydromatic 350 3-speed automatic with a B&M Pro ratchet shifter. TCI Breakaway 2600 stall torque converter and Richmond 3. 90 ring and pinion rear end were selected to deliver the added power to the pavement.

To many this would be more than enough to satisfy one's desire for street cred. But what the heck. after 6+ years of ownership that old familiar itch for more crept in. The car had good bones with the reinforced underpinnings in the chassis and strengthened transmission to handle a significant power boost. How much? How about a 50% increase to a conservative 600 hp at the crank. Carrying over the best of what the motor already had the new mods were highlighted by a Weiand 177 polished supercharger kit under a Holley 750 cfm forced air tuned jet carburetor topped off with a custom made Garlits bird catcher air scoop. This was after a full engine out rebuild featuring an Eagle forged rotating assembly that included 750 stroked crank. pistons. rods. rings and bearings plus a new solid roller cam. lifter set and nothing less than a set of AFR aluminum heads bored 350. The exhaust pipes were bumped up to 3”. Remote controlled cut outs for the exhaust and powered line locks on the front brakes just for fun. A 90 amp polished alternator and high performance starter to put things in motion. Finally an 8 psi forced air and pump gas pro tune finished the current owner's 2007 build all the work done by the boys at Corvette Corner in Rowlett. Texas.

This car goes and shows. The paint and body is in great condition as is the interior. The original console has been deleted in favor of the B&M shifter and mounting for the chrome fire extinguisher. The power window controls have been moved to a custom panel that also includes cool looking and functional toggle switches for controlling the front brake line locks and manual override for the radiator fan. In addition to all of the standard gauges an Auto Meter Cobalt 3 ¾” column mounted tachometer with external shift light puts the business end of the car up close and personal. The car is riding on 15” staggered Centerline polished five spokes clad with fresh Cooper Cobras. 235/60-15 up front and 255/60-15 in the rear. An Alpine CD head unit and a box of 6 x 9 s is included for those rare instances when the sound of that motor isn't at the top of your playlist.

This car turns heads and can be heard coming from a good ways a way. Onlookers should be warned to put their palms over their ears before those exhaust cut outs open under heavy throttle. This is a very fast car that so long as you exercise restraint can be driven on the street on pump gas in traffic without a lot of fanfare behind the wheel. But don't expect anything less than fingers pointing and thumbs up from everyone who sees or hears this thing. The pictures do the talking. This big boy toy is ready for a new owner to relish and enjoy. It's been completely gone through in the last hundred miles. Money spent has never been an issue on this way cool 1976 Pro Street Corvette Stingray. It is ready to go.

The car is located in Rockwall. Texas 75032 (near Dallas) and is offered at $26. 00.
