For sale by owner,1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTACar is nicely equipped with air conditioning, and the larger 5.7 litre engine. It also has the the T-ROOFS  Absolutely iconic necessity if considering any 80's car. GREATLY adds to the fun factor! Enhances collectibility and future investment value.  History:The car was bought in Canada and brought new to California.  That is where it was predominantly driven/used, mostly when it was new.  Over time, it became used less and less, then only very seldomly for fun occasions and scenic coastal drives.  Then life got busy.  The poor old GTA remained parked in the garage, under it's custom cover...  unused.  Years went by.  Approximately the 13-15 years; in fact likely more.   Recently, we took it to a mechanic shop where we had it professionally awakened from it's long term slumber.  They changed the oil, went through some systems, revitalized the fuel system, put in a fresh battery, pre-lubed the engine, and did some other things.  It runs great !!!   I forgot how great that magnificent Tuned Port Injected 5.7 rockets this car down the road and how fabulous the larger Magnaflow exhaust sounds. The colour combination of grey with gold accents and emblems is absolutely magnificent.  The polished aluminum, nearly chrome, barrels of the wheels accentuate the grey body perfectly.  Of all the colour choices available for these, which really there wasn't that many, I find this one just dazzling!  It's by far my favourite.    The car is currently located in Calgary, Alberta Canada.  (Ebay has no provision for those with multiple residences).  Important to note is: Because of it's age, and domestic build:IT IS FREE OF ANY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS.Shipping to most states is in the $1,500 - 2,000 range.  Further destinations like Texas and Florida, expect approximately 2,250.  I'd to budget for 2,500 or more to play on the safe side.  We always suggest playing on the safe side.  My wife has gotten pretty good at setting up shipping.  She would be happy to set this up for you.  We have even had experience shipping to Europe.  Please inquire if that's your case.I've tried to remember and put down everything I can think of.  If I have forgotten anything, or you have some questions, please write.  Because the car has spent the majority (nearly basically all) of it's mileage in Cali, it is as remarkably rust free and fabulous as you will ever find.  As result of the sunshine however, there is a little clear coat peel on the hood and upper corners of the windshield frame.  There are some light scratches, along with some slight imperfections in the paint in other areas.  It is perfectly original though.  There are zero touch-ups.  No part of this car was ever repainted.  I was going to have the hood sanded re-cleared, and polished, but.... thought it best not to infringe upon the integrity of this car's originality.  It's not a very big cost and I was anxious to get it done but, reconsidered.  Thought was...  I decided to sell the car and wanted to be able to say that the car was never touched.  I'll leave that up to the new owner's discretion.  It's not a big job to feather sand the hood and re-clear.  The base paint wouldn't need to be touched.  The a-pillar at the top corners of the windshield may need a bit of paint there though.  It's sunburned thin.  This is a very small isolated area.  As far as the interior goes, the steering wheel leather is a bit dry and I've tried conditioning it a few times.  It's more supple but, still shows it's age.  There is one small door Trans Am emblem that popped off.  I still have it.  It's in the ashtray I think.  Oh, one other thing...   The hood and trunk (back hatch) shocks should be replaced.  They don't hold up any more.  I know this is very common and most people don't even mention but, there ya go, and now you know.  Basically overall, it is in remarkable condition for an untouched 33 year old factory original Trans Am GTA. The tires and wheels on the car are in decent condition but very old.  There is no cracking or unusual wear or anything but, I cannot verify roadworthiness because of age.  For this reason, they'll perhaps be replaced.  The only other deviation from pure stock on this car is the exhaust.  As eluded to, a Magnaflow system was installed years ago, and it sounds GREAT...  Absolutely awesome in fact.  The car is just such a beauty with it's t-roofs off.  I'll be sad to see it go.  Easiest way I can think to make sure it sells I think may be unreserved.  This way, soon as the first bid comes in, I won't be able to change my mind.  I have a custom car cover and will include it.  Good luck and happy bidding!
