Porsche : 928

Hello and thank-you for checking my listing on eBay.

I have here one very rare example of a classic Porsche 928 built in May 1980. It has a 4. 5L V8 with 5-speed manual transmission - the engine. transmission. clutch and drive-line run smooth and strong.    

Under the hood this car is bone stock. it is very tight and it is very reliable. A NON-SMOKER car the interior still smells of (old) leather.  

This car is in great condition. It has always been garaged. good electrical - all lights work both interior and exterior. the markers and lenses are in excellent condition.

The door and window seals are in excellent condition. Exhaust system is solid (mostly original) the car passes the air pollution test with flying colors. Tool kit. spare tire and air pump are all there.    

There are no dents or dings only a few minor rock chips. The glass is all good no cracks or deforming.

The leather and carpeting is good throughout the interior. There is some leather stretching near the dash defrost vents. The power seat options work (forward/back. up/down. recline). no bolster tearing.

All dash gauges/switches work including the clock which keeps perfect time. Blower. HVAC works great. heat and/or ice cold A/C.

This is an amazing 35 year old vintage super-car.  

Some Upgrades:
- Porsche 18 inch wheels with very wide and very sticky Continental tires. Without a gauge I would say 70% rubber left.
- Brakes and suspension were upgraded to 1988 928 S4 so that is calipers. pads. rotors. Bilstein shocks. adjustable suspension.
- Steering wheel was upgraded to a Momo.
- Stereo was upgraded to Clarion multi-media system DVD/ CD/ USB/  Sirius/ Bluetooth/ Tuner/ Navigation/ Camera/ AUX/ AV IN. also has a power booster in the trunk.

Recent maintenance and repairs:
- Regular oil changes at the start of every driving season (May). both engine and transmission.
- Power steering fluid. brake fluid. fuel filter changed annually.
- Fuel lines. timing belt. water pump. thermostat and coolant were replaced 2013.
- Green wire was replaced in 2014.
- Alternator was upgraded in 2014. stereo system needed more juice.
- Sunroof slider maintenance/rail lubrication 2014.
- There are misc spare or additional parts that come with the car (see pic).  
- Records going back to the 1980s.

No used car is perfect:
- The power steering reservoir has a minor leak. I have a replacement unit I have not gotten around to installing.
- I removed the antenna. after 35 years it did not want to retract anymore. A factory replacement unit comes with the car.
- The power mirror switch does not always work.    

I have tried my best to accurately describe the car and posted eBay's max number of pics (24) to support my description. Email if you have further questions I will answer as soon as possible.

Bonus: the car comes with a spare 5. 0L short block from an '88 928 S4. I was going to build a hybrid but decided to keep the car stock so have a spare motor laying about. If you want it. it comes with the car.      

Car is currently in (winter) storage in Abbotsford. BC. . this is about 5 miles from the US border.

I am not the original owner.

This car is a US version. it was originally registered and sold in the US in mid-1980 and imported to Canada in 2007.  

The odometer is in miles not kilometers.

I have records on the car from as early as 1980 and as recent as 2015.  

The rear defroster works without issue.

The speedometer works without issue.  Same for all pod gauges and tachometer.

The cruise control system works without issue I use it often.

The headlights up/down works without issue.   

The picture I posted of the hood does not show a dent - it is a reflection from the garage door opener light. This car is dent free.

Yes. the media system will play DVDs (there is a special switch to flip).  

The interior is original except for the steering wheel and media center.

The car has no structural damage.

The paint is not original. nbsp;it was painted at least 9 years ago.

There is no warranty on this car. It is being sold "as is".

Reason for re-listing - the purchaser backed out due to unexpected financial issues.
