1968 Corvette 427ci big block 390 horsepower numbers matching car.   This car is paint code 974 Rally Red with black interior.   Car has power windows and 4-wheel disc brakes.

We bought this car a few months ago from a guy who tells us that it sat for over 20 years in a building and has the born engine. transmission. and rear end installed by General Motors back in the 1960's.

The car appears to have the original paint on the car that is weathered and faded.

The guy we bought it from signed a statement stating to the best of his knowledge that the engine. trans. and rear end were born to the car and from what we can see. it appears this is the case.

The car was not running when we bought it. and it had a leaking fuel tank and brake system leaked and would not hold brake fluid pressure.

 We installed two front brake calipers and a new master cylinder to get brakes working.

We installed new points in the ignition have got the car running.   We have flushed the transmission.  

We installed new fuel take and fuel sending unit so car no longer has fuel leaking from fuel tank.

We have driven the car down the road and back and it runs and drives and brakes.   It can be started with ignition key. backed out of the garage. put in park and driven down the road and then parked back in the garage. Reverse and drive work on transmission.

The engine will run and idle as long as one likes without over heating and there are no coolant leaks that we know of.  

Power steering. power windows. and heat blower motor works.   Head lights and tail lights work.   Engine tachometer works when car is running. Volt gauge also works along with engine buzzer and seat belt light.

Charging system has a draw and battery needs recharged frequently to get car started --like voltage regulator is going bad.   We did install new battery.   Blower motor for heat comes on but little to no air comes from vents.

This car is rare and it is once in a blue moon to find one with the actual original born engine. trans. and rear end.   Restored. this car should be worth as much as $50. 00 and over time should rise in value.

Many cars are out there that are advertised as "numbers matching" but most have engines in them that never actually came in the car--- even if the dates and casting numbers come back as correct.   They have been pieced back together with parts that originally came on other cars. This is not the case with this car's engine. trans. or rear end.

IMPORTANT:
This car should be restored.   The frame is rusted out and car will need repainting and other restoration services.   Fiberglass body has a few areas were fiberglass has cracked but no damage from collision.   Door frames have rust but we have two solid door frames that we can include with sale of car.    Birdcage on the car has minor rust from what we can see but is solid enough it should not need to be replaced when car is restored. Many parts on the car are in very good condition for being almost 50 years old. Does not look like car has ever had collision damage.

FRAME:
We do have frame that is rust free. sand blasted. and painted black that we would be willing to include with the car.  

Beauty rings on rally wheels are missing as is rear radio antenna.   We would be willing to buy these items and install if this is a requirement for a buyer and will help get the car sold!
