I am listing my wife's 70 Mustang Mach1 which was her 25th wedding anniversary present from me in 2005. We were married July 26th 1980 and this car according to Mari Auto Works was built July26th 1970  in Dearborn. Mich. coincedence I don't know but that's pretty cool. Well after a 5 year restoration it hit the road again in the early summer of 2010. it has hit numerous local shows winning quite a few trophies a couple 1st places and a few top 20 with one being for best paint But sadly now she is ready to try something different with my support so now I will list what has been done to the car since we purchased it.

We are the third owners as we bought it from a retired colonel in the Air Force in Colorado Springs and he bought it from the original owners who purchased it new in 1970 from a dealership in Salt Lake City. Utah. The car had been hit sometime brfore the colonel bought it in the passengers side quarter and the repair was passible but far from correct as they didn't replace the outer wheelhouse instead beat it back out which didn't match perfectly so when it rained water poured in to trunk and rotted it out. so here is the details of the rotisserie restoration that followed.

We pulled the 351C with the understanding that it had a rebuild 10K ago but it was quite greasy for it to have been rebuilt so recent but it ran good and didn't use any oil. we did drive it from Colorado Springs to Kansas City after purchase with no problems at all.

Engine: Check compression all cylinders within 15 % so we installed new valve covers with rubber gaskets. replaced stock water pump with Edelbrock aluminum high flow pump. & gasket. replaced thermostat with 185 degree one & gasket. tried a Edelbrock aluminum intake with a 4 barrel carb but ran way too rich and could not get it adjusted correctly so went back to iron 2 barrel intake with a rebuilt 2 barrel carb from Rock Auto. Had the original distributor rebuilt by Dave's HEI conversion in Las Vegas with a MSD trigger instead of points with a MSD 6a box. Everything for the A/C system under the hood is new except compressor and lines which are fine. Shaker Assembly was added by us and is a original purchased on E-Bay.

Transmission: Bought a rebuilt AOD trans from "PATC" with a HP rating of 550 HP and a 2500 Stall Convertor. added a B & M external transmission cooler. Driveshaft was built new by " Midwest Driveshaft" in St. Charles. Illinois.

Rearend: Was rebuilt by me with new axle bearings & seals and a "Strange Engineering" Positraction center section with 350:1 gears and this is a 9" rearend.

Suspension & Steering: Completely rebuilt with stock components ( Moog bushings ). the only exception is the KYB shocks.

Brakes: Front are original disc brakes while the back are SSBC disc brake conversion with a adjustable proportioning valve in engine compartment by master cylinder.

Wheels & Tires: Front are 14" Magnum 500's with B. F. Goodrich T/A's 75% tread and rears are 15" Magnums with B. F. Goodrich T/A's New.

Body: All of these parts were replaced with new sheet metal. complete trunk floor. rear framerails repaired with new sections. trunk lid. both rear quarters & outer wheelhouses. doors. hood. front and rear valances. front spoiler. rear replaced aftermarket spoiler with correct original. rebuilt window regulators. new correct windshield. new seal around rear glass. Car has been painted in it original ( Y Code ) Rare Chestnut Metallic using BC/CC.

Interior: Original color was ginger which we felt didn't look good with the beautiful Chestnut Metallic exterior so we changed it to black since the car is already modified. it also has new dash from " Just Dashes ". new white faced autometer gauges & clock from " JME Industries. Complete chassis wiring kit for a 70 Mustang from Painless wiring with new update fuse box with the colored fuses also a spare 6 circuit fuse boxe. A painless wiring H4 headlight conversion kit. Heater & A/C box completely rebuilt with a hew heater core and a/c evaporator and complete new seal kit. new carpet on floor and fold down seat panels. original seats have been recovered in the correct pattern for 1970. New wood Shelby wheel with Mustang logo horn button. Intermittant wipers. Panosonic AM/FM/CD stereo with a Alpine 100amp Power Amp & Sony 12" Subwoofer in the trunk which has been boxed in and carpeted.

Spare parts included with car: Numerous parts shown in picture are with the car along with 2 spare 14" magnum 500's with B. F. Goodrich tires 75% tread. also we have removed the original bucket seats and covered and stored them away and replaced them in car with 2005 Mustang leather bucket seats that the drivers seat is electric with lumbar. we did this because we drive the car to all shows and we took it from Kansas City to Des Moines ; Iowa for the Goodguys show and an 800 mile round trip to Springfield. Illinios for a Route 66 car show and we needed more comfortable seats. but if you are on the heavy side or just a big person and you win the car you might tell me to put the original seats back in because without a tilt column it is dificult even for me who is 6' and 150 pounds to get between steering wheel and seat. my wife is small so she has no issues.

Issues: Not much here but it does have a cold rough idle issue which I've not been able to diagnois but motor runs strong. has a hesitation issue when slowing to make a turn shifting between 1st & 2nd which I think has something to do with that rough idle. door gap to front drivers fender is a little bigger than rest. I argued with bodyman until I was blue in the face with him not correcting it but most people don't notice it.

Final Note. I've been as honest as possible when describing this vehicle so if you are interested and would like to inspect / drive the car or have a third party do it I will work with you to arrange such a inspection. I have the original window sticker. Mati Report which states the spoilers / window slats and magnum 500 were added after purchase and before we bought the car. we also have a qualified appraisal which was done a couple years ago for $45K and we have more than that in the car but our reserve is quite a bit less than the appraisal but don't ask because I will not tell just keep bidding and you will find out for yourself.

Here is a website detailing with pictures and videos of the restoration process and it's first car show drive. http://cindys70mustang. weebly. com/index. html

Here is a video I just took recently of the car walking around it showing exterior / interior / engine running.   http://vid250. photobucket. com/albums/gg262/leadfoot55/SMOV0072_zpsi0nr6jwv. mp4
