1988 MR 2 Supercharged

I hate to sell this awesome little collecter car. but I bought a boxter and just do not have room for all of my toys. I have had two of these guys and think that it's one of the best made supercharged cars (I've had over 50 cars). It is faster than my Porsche and 280 Z. and the handling is amazing.

This one is mechanically perfect. runs like a top. does not burn oil. and has no oil leaks. It has just over 100 K miles. I like my cars perfect so over the past year have put about $3 K into this one. It wouldn't pass emissions and took a bit of work to get it right. The person that had it before me had it messed up really bad. The local Dealer had it for three months getting all of the engine stuff straightened out (I have receipts. a bit over $2 K). I've driven it daily for about five months now and it's good to go.

I have way more than $6500 in the car and would keep it if I had the room.

Here's a list of the good:

NO rust

Nice interior Smoke free car New dash cover

Clutch is awesome New tires (~500 miles) Nice aftermarket wheels Does not burn or drip oil New emergency break cables Brakes checked at dealer. they are fine

Fuel tank pulled. cleaned and new hoses.

New guts in drivers side window (works perfectly)

Electric door locks repaired at dealer and works perfectly

Complete dealer tune up: plugs. wires. oil change. cooling system flush and more.

Passes emissions easily now

Pop-up lights work perfectly Dealer replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor

Replaced coolent sensor. works perfect Replaced hoses and thermostat at dealer Air Conditioner works great. blows cold air It has all rear window trim. but there are cracks.

Drove this car all summer. no issues what so ever with cooling. all fans work perfectly.

The bad:

Dash is cracked Electric antenna does not work Stereo works good. but could use better speakers Drivers

door panel needs some work. material needs to be re-glued Small crack in passenger side ground effects from jack placed in wrong spot.

Shifter could use a little adjusting. but it's fine unless you are a perfectionist.

The plastic trim around the steering wheel needs some attention. didn't bother me so hadn't gotten to it yet.

Passenger door window needs new gear installed. window works but is not perfect. I think we have the parts.

Steering wheel cover was in bad shape. we fixed it but it's not perfect. I would get aftermarket wheel or replacement.

Wiper switch intermittent does not work. common with this car. there is a fix on the internet. just never got to it. Switch & wipers work fine other wise.
