Triumph Dolomite Sprint - one of the best for sale

There are now about half a dozen of these Mad Mart "labour of love" restorations gracing the classic car scene. Mart does one about every 18 months and to say he does a thorough job is an understatement. To see exactly what happened to bring this car to its current condition you would need to spend a good half an hour reading the documented thread on the TDC forum web site.   I'll let you search for that yourself so as not to breach copyright or tread on any Ebay toes. Suffice to say that the car received a very through transformation ending in a very high quality respray in the original Flamenco red. It was done professionally in 2 pack and looks almost new today 4 years on. This is quite a rare dolomite colour and was only available in 77 and early 78.

It returned to the road to its first owner after Mart in Northern Ireland in about 2010. He carried out numerous upgrades including to the headlights which are now halogen and operated via proper relays. No burned out contacts in the column stalk then. After its sojourn in NI the owner decided to focus on his love of Saab 99's. We only get one life. so the car returned to its current owner on the mainland and it now lives in a heated garage in Slough. I look after it for him and have been tasked with selling it. Its been a really hard decision and made after a lot of soul searching. Cars like this dont come up very often - how would you ever get another one? Sometimes needs must so this gives
someone else the chance to be its guardian.

Since the current owner took the car on I've had to do a few things to keep it pristine. Its wanted for nothing really. and now has poly rack bushes. new front wheel bearings. brake calipers serviced and a lower mileage gearbox fitted.
The box itself was recently rebuilt and came from another car which the same owner wanted converted back to auto. The clutch was replaced at the same time and has done about 1000 miles since fitting. It does have lowered suspension by about an inch and runs a nice set of 185/60 tyres. These make it handle very well. but it could if wanted easily be returned to the standard 175/70's for a more relaxed and less "pointy" feel. I've also done the usual service items and it runs on Valvoline VR1 oil. decent Bosch plugs and quality filters. It runs spot on. well I did write the club SU tuning guide.
It runs with the obligatory stainless straight through Falcon "sports" system. Few Sprints keep to the old cross wise factory design now.

It also benefits from a webasto style sunroof. which makes it very enjoyable in this fine weather we get so rarely at this time of year.

Faults? Well I can find but 2 marks on the body. one of which could be a paint run. The other is a 1cm split on the bonnet resulting from a careless closure with the oil cap not screwed down. Not by me I hasten to add.
It also has a period stereo with speakers in the back shelf only. Its adequate but hardly Harmon Kardon.

So not much more to say really. There cant be many better Sprints on sale now if ever. It couldn't be made and sprayed up from new parts at this price even if you could find them. Even getting a journeyman running
car in to this condition would take you months of hard work. even if you had the skills. The bodywork alone justifies the price.

Its only being sold to a discerning owner. If you do your homework and want a top drawer Sprint then this is the car for you. Dreamers and test pilots please look elsewhere.
The car will obviously only be released on receipt of cleared funds. which we suggest is via bank transfer. This is a fixed price sale. so its turn up. have a look. if you like it then buy it.   If you don't like it. walk away.
No part exchange. Don't mess us around and we will treat you right as 99. 99% of the ebay population understand.
The car is available to view anytime in normal working hours and I will do my best at weekends and evenings. but ask not on Sundays please. We all need 1 day of rest.

As for Tax and Mot Status. it is taxed for 6 months - runs out end September. The next Mot is due in May and the retest will be a formality. We can arrange this for the new buyer so assume 1 year's MoT.

Thanks for looking and I look forward to meeting the new guardian.
