A vintage limousine with character. angular and upright. incorporating some delightful features. such as an oval rear window. peaked visor over the windscreen. Klaxon horn. etc. and running on the correct 21” wheels.
We have with the car four old buff logbooks. which. between them. cover the period from new until 1976. at which point the DVLA Swansea record takes over. therefore providing a complete ownership record. The car
has recently been re-wired. is in nicely sound condition. runs well. and is offered prepared and newly MoT tested. We are in the process of reclaiming the original registration number. AR 6. which would be a desirable
bonus!

Chassis No. GRJ71. Reg No. UR 7621 (but see above). £35. 00.

Snippets – The Sebrights

Lady Olive Emily Sebright took delivery of GRJ71 at the family seat of Beechwood Park. Bedfordshire. The Sebrights acquired Beechwood when Anne. Sir Thomas Saunders' great-granddaughter married Sir Edward Sebright 3rd Bt in 1687. The Sebrights were faithful Royalists & in 1643 were fined £1. 09 by the sequestors in order to retain their estates. By marriage the Sebright family are related to: Henry Montagu 1st Earl of Manchester a major 17th Century statesman. Sir Samuel Dashwood of the East India Company & Lord Mayor of London. the Crofts of Norfolk – William Crofts was Master of the Horse to James II (whilst he was the Duke of York). Dukes of Leinsters who can claim a blood link via Lady Lennox to Charles II! Lady Olive & Sir Guy Sebright were tenants of several imposing properties – Caddington Hall in Hertfordshire which was owned by the MacNamara family who had inherited the Hall through marriage to Anne Lee the heiress of John Pedley & the Sebrights later rented Hever Castle! Hever which dates from 1270 was purchased by the Bullen family in 1459 & was childhood home of Anne Bullen. it was not until Henry VIII was courting Anne that the surname of Boleyn was adopted. In 1539 Henry seized ownership of Hever & gifted it to his 4th wife Ann of Cleves upon their divorce. Later owners of Hever included the Waldegraves (supporters of Henry's Catholic daughter Mary) & the Meade-Waldoes who rented this & other estates out. According to the 1901 census whilst at Hever. the Sebrights had 9 servants! Sir Guy Sebright inherited Beechwood Park & the Baronetcy upon the death of his older brother. Edgar (Christmas Day 1917. Sir Guy himself died in 1933 but his & Lady Olive's only son died in 1912 after a few hours sudden illness. Beechwood Park can be traced back to Saxon times. since then the house has had many alterations & additions including the land being re-designed by Capability-Brown in 1753.
