I am advertising my esprit for sale as I am looking at another project. I am really just testing the water to see . It is a 1981 esprit S3 which has been professionaly fitted with an alfa romeo 3. 0l v6 24 valve engine from a 2001 166 lusso with 54300 miles. The gearbox bellhousing was made using a bare engine and making a shaft to run thru the engine bearings and gearbox bearings to ensure perfect alignment. he engine then had timing belt . ensioners and water pump replaced. All mountings etc are well made and look like factory items. A new clutch was then fitted with CSC internal clutch slave cylinder and aeroquip braided clutch hose line. This leaves a nice light clutch pedal. the engine was then fitted using silicone hoses. The engine is running the older 164 type engine management system which is a direct fit on the 166 engine. A revotec fan controller is fitted to control the radiator fans. A tach adapt unit is fitted to alter the rev counter reading so as to use the original instruments. The car is fitted with an alloy fuel tank with in tank fuel pump. This is really simplifying all the work that went into this car.  The car has new brake disks front and rear with new rear calipers. the front calipers were stripped and freed out and refitted. It does need handbrake cables. The interior is black cloth but there are some parts missing being the carpet set. the gear lever surround and boot and the sun visors. The instrument panel face is done in carbon fibre effect.  The bodywork is reasonable with a few scratches but is missing the rear valence below the bumper. It has a turbo louvered bootlid instead of the original glass one fitted to the S3. The engine bay sidewalls are missing but are my next step and may be finished by the time the car sells.  The car is presently driving but needs finishing. The engine conversion is very successful leaving a very smooth powerful engine 229BHP 240 plus with a chip. with that fabulous alfa v6 engine tone. this unit is a very well respected powerplant being powerful and reliable. The suspension will need shox and some bushes in my opinion but this is a great chance for someone to get this car with all the hard work done. I am only thinking about selling it to help finance the purchase of an aeroplane. I have no intention of giving it away. I am not stuck for the money. If it sells i will buy the plane if not I will keep the lotus . inish it and enjoy it. Video footage and photos can be seen at don baker auto engineer on facebook. i will upload more pics and videos as time progresses. I will also put more pics on my website donbakerautoengineer. com. There is also a lot of alfa engine spares to suitThe car is not taxed or tested. I can deliver the car to holyhead for an extra charge
I would prefer the potential buyer to view the car before purchase
