1965 Volvo Amazon Estate

Volvo's Amazon was the car that proved it possible to combine style and panache with rugged dependability and practicality making it one of the Swedish manufacturer's greatest successes and a sought after car for collectors today. Arguably it is even more stylish in estate form and certainly even more practical. Amazon's are one of the few fifty year old cars that really can still be used as everyday transport. Though perhaps this one is a little too nice…

Our left-hand drive '65 Estate has just been fully restored in Denmark to an exceptional standard at a cost far exceeding its value. Due to the high costs involved it's rare to find an Amazon that has received such a comprehensive restoration. but the results speak for themselves.

The dark green exterior contrasts beautifully with the tan interior. The shell is totally rust free. as you'd expect. the paint is superb. as is the brightwork. The interior has been professionally retrimmed in leather rather than the original vinyl with new contrasting carpeting too.

The suspension and brakes have been rebuilt and the original B18 engine has been substituted for a B20 in the interests of increased power. and the gearbox has the rare overdrive. which is essential on today's roads. In addition. wider wheels have been fitted to allow wider tyres. improving both the looks and grip.

The Amazon is currently being registered in the UK and will come with 12 months MoT and tax. A very stylish and practical classic in amazing condition that needs nothing except driving and enjoying.
