1950 Jaguar mk5. 3. 5 litre. barn find. this car has only had 2 owners and has been off the road since 1966.
It was originally garaged to replace the head gasket. but after the head was removed the the car was left in the barn and forgotten. in the 1970's the owners son began to restore the car. but also never finished it - the wings have just been placed on in the pictures.
It appears to be more or less complete. I have not been able to compose any lists but I cannot see any obvious shortcomings in the parts included. The car has its original (Bolton) registration number with the v5 present. so this could be transfered once restored. Other documentation with the car is its last mot from 1965 and some old photographs.
The engine easily turns and the bores and bearings 'feel' good. The cylinder head has just been carefully placed back onto the block for protection. and the chassis appears very solid and rolls and steers very easily
Be under no illusiuon. this car is in need of full restoration. It is not a quick flip. however when completed. it can be expected to achieve £30-£40k and of course prices are rising all the time so its well worth doing.
