I have owned this car for 24 years and the previous owner had the car from 1968. When I bought the car it had been off the road since 1983 and when I bought it in 1990 I promised to restore it. There was the usual rush of enthusiasm and a local Triumph Specialist did work on the body new front wings. welding as required and replacing the chassis outriggers and side rails. I dutifully then painted. undersealed and waxoyled. ran the engine then restoration stopped. Since the early 1990s the car has lived in my garage then last year I decided I had to do something. As I promised the previous owner not to scrap the car the spending spree started with a Triumph Specialist refurbishing the engine. converting to negative earth. new later flywheel to take new diaphragm spring clutch. new battery. alternator. stainless steel exhaust. fuel pump. various engine ancillaries. brake cylinders. brake shoes and hoses etc. Once the car was the mobile again it went to a local paint shop and a respray in two pack Triumph White paint.  Paint job done it next had new carpets. all five wheels were powder coated and 5 new tyres fitted. The next job in July 2013 was the MOT which it passed without problem. Now it was on the road for the first time since 1983 it was time for a cold drive down to Birmingham to have a new hood fitted.
The car has a Heritage Certificate and a history file with lots of bills. The restoration done to date like most classics has cost much more than the car is worth but I didn't want to scrap it.  It's not concours and there are still areas that can be improved. It is true 4 seat convertible and can cope in modern traffic. I have done almost 1. 00 miles in the car since putting it back on the road which has been a mixture of local. two trips down the M6 motorway and days out in North Wales.  I am happy to arrange a new MOT and need to have the engine checked now it is run in with tappets and head bolts checked etc. This can all be done with the MOT.  The vehicle is Road Tax Exempt and cheap to insure on classic car insurance.

Hi, I stumbled across your advert…I had one of these way back. Wondered if it was still for sale? I’m in Berkhamsted but could come up to Manchester or take a chance and buy it and get it delivered. Worth a phone chat.
Kind regards
