1962 Austin Healey Sprite Vintage Historic Race Car

1962 Austin Healey Sprite Race Car   SCCA Logbook 19-333 (Sports Car Club of America) 6500GBP is the opening NO RESERVE BIDDING.  This car will sell.  I had dreams of driving various vintage events and bought the best fully prepared car I could find.  Look closely at the engine pictures and note that this is prepared to a high level.  Look at my last Ebay feedback from the buyer of my MG TD.  Concerned about buying from sunny California?   It is amazingly simple now that I have done it twice.  Shipping from Southern California costs about 1500 USD/1000 GBP. including flatbed truck delivery from my garage to the Port of Long Beach here in California by CFR Rinken who also works with Kingston Shipping Ltd on the UK side.  Why am I selling this car?  I am 68 years old. and I fell off a ladder taking down Christmas lights decorations on the house and with the hip surgery repair. my physcian has ordered an end to any thought of vintage auto racing.  And the last picture shown is the other reason. I have too many cars. and  I haven't shown the 1962 MGA 1622 or the 1959 Bugeye RHD. (will be sold next for 7500 GBP opening bid) that are housed in another garage. I  live in the California desert. so these cars are all rust free!! and stored inside.  But rubber seals do suffer in the dry heat.    Last year my 1966 Porsche 912 went to Munster Germany and the 1951 MG TD. sold in January . should be in Felixstowe  and probably delivered.   The UK buyer has said he would serve as reference for my honesty in financial transaction. cooperation in shipping. and honesty of the cars description.  My bank is fully familiar with wired transactions from UK. and is ready to serve.   #####This car is a purpose build race car. not a street car with stickers pretending. ####  
     Engine: 948 + with . 040 overbore high compression pistons. ported and polished cylinder head.  CC'd chambers. factory competition can and valve springs.  Lightened tappets. dual timing chain wioth lightened sprockets.  Conrods lightened and balanced end to end and shot peened.  Polished crank with metalistic front damper. lightened flywheel and 1 1/4 nine spring clutch. balanced as an assembly. matched induction manifold wih HS2 1 1/4 carbs. modified water pump with thermostate blanking sleeve. tubular exhaust header.
     Transmission: ribbed case with straight cut close ratio gears (pn#JJ33219) and strengthened layshaft (pn# 22g673)  Rear axle 3. 9 ratio with Detroit locker limited slip and panhard rod. recurved lowered rear springs.
     Chassiss: front spring lowering kit. competition valve front shock. vented front dis brakes. rear drums Harrison oil cooler and remote spin on oil filter.  Extra core radiator. 13 by 5 steel wheels (and 5 spares and practice tires) 11/16 sway bar  8gal ATL fuel cell.  Raced in CA SCCA from 1982 to 1989. stored for 16 years in a barn. restored to a beautiful standard for a race car and raced in 2005.  
Previous owner sold because he needed surgery and needed cash. I assume. for costs not covered by insurance. .  He is a well respected AH racer and mechanic in the San Diego area and is active in the AH Club there.  He also did the RHD Bugeye I have.  Remember. these cars are in the desert mountains above Palm Springs. there is no rust cancer spots that go deep.  Of course some minor surface belemishes.  I know nothing about the mechanicals specs. so I copied exactly what Mr. Pleasant.  the mechanic. had in his description  The car runs great. drives great. before I stored it in 2009  It has been stored for 5 years. so it will need refreshing before you go to the Vintage racing .  This little mighty mite would be so much fun on a Hillclimb event.    The car is sold on a bill of sale basis as race cars in the USA usually do not have a motor vehicle ownership certificate.  For US customs.  I have the proof of racing history and pictures to expedite export.  Email me any question you might have. and I hope you bid and we can have your car in the UK for events this summer.  Of course EU bidders  are just as welcome to win this auction.
