2.0 zetec powered MK1 Cortina

Here is my much loved Mk1 Cortina aka "The Gotina!"

I purchased this vehicle in 2001 as a 1200 delux. It was burgundy in colour with blue doors although the silver stripe did match all the way through.

My aim was to build a fast road/ track car so I think I probably have touched every part of this car. Don't expect luxury

Still unsure if I want to sell but will complete if reserve is met

I have a urge to own a turbo powered ford ;-)

Exterior

As stated before the car was a bit of a mish mosh when I got it. but I have carried out the following repairs to the body.

Replaced os inner and outer sills and floor pan and 1 outrigger

Replaced osr lower wing section

Repaired os front wing with owner club panels

Repaired all 4 door lower corners

Replaced OS outer sill repaired inner

Repaired os floor pan

replaced rear lower valance

repaired front lower valance

I painted vehicle ermine white with a black stripe as it isn't a lotus. although presentable could probably do with a flat and polish or a professional job.

13" replica alley cat alloys with brand new tyres fitted. black centres with polished rim

Bullet mirrors

new front and rear screen rubbers

Fibreglass replacement bumpers

Interior

Interior is completely custom

Fabricated center console with switch gear controlling fuel. ignition. cooling and heater

Electronic dash (like a stack but not. still to be connected)

Custom carpets due to modified transmission tunnel

Bucket seats with harnesses

Bolt in roll cage (unpainted)

alloy boot divider

carpeted boot

Battery placed in boot in fiber glass box

custom roof lining (needs finishing)

No door cards (plan was chequer plate)

covered dash and rear shelf

Original 3 spoke alloy steering wheel

Brakes and suspension

Front brakes consist of princes 2 pot calipers new pads

rear brakes 9" RS spec drums new

Full braided lines through out

servo assisted

Could probably do with a bleed through as been standing

Front suspension has been converted by Gaz to coilover with adjustable rebound

Rears are standard leaf and shocks with lowering blocks

poly bushes all round

Engine and transmission

Rebuilt standard 2. 0 silvertop zetec with new rings and shells

Twin 40 Dellorto carbs (need tuning)

Ford hcs ignition syatem

Pacet solid state fast road fuel pump and regulator

braided fuel hoses

Large alloy radiator with silicone hoses

custom water rail

Customised focus st170 manifold back exhaust with dtm ralley exhaust

Retro ford redrilled zetec to pinto fly wheel

MT75 gearbox from scorpio to retain hydraulic clutch (Linkage needs adjustment struggles to select reverse)

2 pce sieera prop

standard rear axle

Some things Left to do

Finish interior

bleed brakes

fit washer switch

fit horn

tune engine (runs well enough to move around)

This is not a conclusive list but it is what I can remember

As I say Ive enjoyed getting the car to this point but feel it would benefit from someone else carrying the journey on. Will not let it go easy or for silly money
