Triumph TR6 - Stunning Condition, Genuine UK 150 BHP - Private Sale for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 514 votes

Here for sale is my much loved and cared for 150 bhp 1974 TR6 with factory overdrive. This is a very exceptional car and a previous concours winner that has since had some sensible modifications to make it an even better and more enjoyable car to drive. I have its history documented from both my own and the previous owners with copies of all bills. mot's. tax discs and full photos. It is a genuine UK car and was subject to a very full and careful restoration starting in Jan 1997 and completed April 1998. At that time every component was removed. checked and replaced wherever necessary. the costs exceeding £28. 00 (without the cost of the car itself). Many claims are made of 'nut and bolt' restorations but this has genuinely been the case with this car. all photos are available to show exactly what has been done and I have confirmed this with the previous owners. The 150 bhp. fuel injected engine (#21- so quite collectable in its own right) was originally fitted to an early TR5 reputed to have been ex motor show. and this was used in the restoration in preference to the lower output 125 bhp unit it had fitted. It was completely refurbished along with the gearbox. overdrive and diff and all the suspension. bearings etc. The chassis was stripped and powder coated and is as clean and shiny as the bodywork above it. The body has been well protected with cavity wax and the paintwork was finished in British Racing Green. which still looks superb with all the chromework in excellent condition. The panel fit is perfect and all the photos show the care that was taken during the rebuild. The interior is finished with a burr walnut dash. motolita wheel and the seats covered in black leather. The car. once completed was then entered for several concours events and won. there are certificates to show this.

Since this work was done in 1998 the car has covered less than 10. 00 miles. has been well maintained and so drives and sounds like new. Some of the later modifications include the very desirable power steering conversion. professionally carried out. it also has Koni adjustable shock absorbers. drilled discs. Kenlowe fan. rocker feed. electronic ignition. H4 lamps and a Bosch fuel pump to replace the unreliable Lucas original. It also has a full stainless steel Pheonix exhaust system that sounds absolutely gorgeous. The wheels are genuine Minilite and tyres are all almost new. I am an engineer and a member of the TR Register and can confirm that all of this work has been done professionally and to a very high standard. It comes with some spares. original radio (a modern CD player is fitted) and both tonneau covers. I replaced the clutch master cylinder last year as it was just starting to leak. I bought a new slave also but this is still in the box.

All in all. this is one very sorted. genuine and desirable TR6 and has to be one of the very best available today. Everything works as it should. no nasty noises or leaks. it drives superbly.

Any inspection is welcome but please do not waste both your own and my time if you are not serious about buying it. I will not accept daft offers. Of course it is taxed and has a current MOT. (the tester couldn't believe his eyes at the condition underneath) The current independent valuation is at £22. 00 and this ought to be re-valued now as I did this more than a year ago and it probably is too low. There will be TR6's at lower prices for sale (often imports or needing a lot of work) but I would challenge you to find a better one anywhere.

Please allow adequate notice if you would like to view it as the car is not always kept at my home address. More details on request. I am also advertising the car through my club so may end the listing early.
