A good-looking cabriolet. with some appealing features such as very pretty wings. bell headlights. elongated side lamps. ‘diver's helmet' rear lamps. white-faced instruments and a very interestingly shaped division. We have just finished re-furbishing the engine. which is re-bored. with new pistons. etc. and the car runs very nicely. Complete with correct 23” split rim wheels with straight sided tyres. Charming. versatile and full of vintage character. Offered prepared. serviced and newly MoT tested.

Chassis No. GA71. Reg No. XR 7663. £59. 00.

Snippets: Silversmiths to Royalty:
Delivered to William Massey Birks the same year that the family firm of Henry Birks & Son Silversmiths. Jewellers & Cutlers opened their London branch in Regent Street. The firm was founded in Montreal in 1878 by his father Henry Birks & by 1893 the 3 sons William. John & Gerald went into partnership with their father. Birks have been associated with Silver as far as the 1500s with a Richard Birks & in the 1600s William Birks whose trade mark was a tobacco pipe which he applied to the blades of his Sterling work! By various merges (both in business & marriage) the firm are known today as Birks & Mayors and in 2010 they were the official suppliers of Jewellery for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. William's son Gerald Birks served with the Royal Flying Corps in WWI and was credited with 12 machines and was awarded the Military Cross & Bar. he was invalided out in August 1918. The next recorded name on the Chassis cards is that of a certain M. A. Storer a resident of Sherwood. Nottingham; most famous for Robin Hood & the fabulous dragon of Wantley!
