1959 Austin Seven Mk1 MIni for sale

 This Austin Seven is an early example. built on 22nd July 1959. and is the 600th Austin Seven mini to be built. The body shell is fully restored. including hand made floor pans to the original specification. The paint is two pack RD9 Tartan Red. There is slight bubbling to the leading edge of the bonnet. The original doors were beyond repair and heritage doors have been substituted. There is a provision on the B pillar for seat belt mounting.

The engine bay features. an early air box pointing in the direction of the coventry flat top radiator. There is one of the original master cylinders present. A Wingard Glass washer bottle is present. a four blade fan. orignal type exhaust (was nos when fitted). Magic wand type gearbox. overall a good running engine which has a slight oil leak.

The running gear features the original subframes. with the early type welded radius arms and handbrake locator. here are welded suspention trumpets fitted both front and rear. Single leading shoe brakes. five riveted wheels on camac 520-10 crossply tyres. The steering rack is the original one. having some slight play in the rack bush.     

The interior. comprises of the original cardboard speedo surround and embelishers. early heater. original headliner and sunvisors. original door cards front and rear. binnacle surround panels. and parcel shelf. the dash panel is non original. as is the carpet. The sliding windows feature single hole glass with catches on the multi hole window runners. The quarter lights are in the original finish showing some slight diteriation of chrome due to age. accessory door handles of the period. The boot has the original rubber mat. however it shows signs of it age. original screw type sender unit is also present on the petrol tank.  

The paperwork supplied with the car is the original green log book. Current V5. MOT (expires on June 2014) showing an advisory note on the nearside rear radius arm having slight play. B. M. I. H. T certificate. A copy of the original registration document from the Department of Transport first registration in Preston Lancashire. an original but not the original Austin Seven drivers handbook.

This car was requested for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2011 to be entered into the 'Peoples Power'. on the Cartier 'Style Et Luxe' Lawn. where the car received considerable interest.
