Series 3, 109 pick-up truck, ex-MOD for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 541 votes
This is an ex-MOD (British military) truck.

I purchased this truck about 10 years ago. It was stripped to bare aluminum and professionally painted. It was painted to use and not for car shows; with that said. it is a very nice. driver quality paint job. I have used this as my farm truck for about the past 9 years so if you're looking for a solid. dependable. very nice looking and definitely above average Land-Rover pick-up truck that you can get in and be proud to drive. this is for you. However. if you are looking for an absolutely pristine truck for car shows - you should look elsewhere.

This is a left-hand drive truck. unusual because most ex-MOD Land-Rovers are RHD. Originally military camouflage. repainted in Land-Rover pastel green. A number of body panels were replaced including new inner and outer front wings. rocker panels. rear panels and all new light assemblies. Although I have no documentation. the frame was supposedly replaced prior to being decommissioned by the MOD. this is probably correct as there is absolutely no rust on the frame. This is a 12v truck. NOT the 24v FFR. as many ex-MOD trucks are.

The pick-up bed is coated with truck bed liner. The interior has Ex-Moor high-back seats. center seat / storage bin and diamond-plate floors. During my ownership. in addition to normal maintenance items. I have replaced: starter. exhaust. rebuilt alternator. battery. front brake flex hoses. recently rebuilt Solex carb. The truck has received regular maintenance and has been incredibly dependable. The truck starts. runs. stops as it should and is currently registered. inspected. has a clear Virginia title and is driven and used on a regular basis. All of the electrics work properly.   Hi-low range transfer box works fine. sycros in all gears are fine. hydraulics are fine and has very firm brakes (unusual for a 109). 2. 25 litre petrol engine fires right up on the coldest mornings and runs smooth. New tires on 16” rims. I have the original camouflage MOD front wings and floors and you are welcome to them if you want them. It does have an oil leak. I believe from the rear of the oil pan - it's never bothered me enough to fix and as they say about these old Rovers - if it's not leaking that means it's out of oil. There is one small dent on the body. adjacent to the driver's door top hinge that got there when I was re-attaching the doors and the door swung around and dented the body - it's not very noticeable so I never bothered to do anything about it. It was originally fitted with dual fuel tanks - one began leaking and was removed to repair but I never got to it so I have been using it with 1 fuel tank which is no problem - the other tank comes with the truck.

Contact me with any questions. although make sure you know what you are inquiring about - so don't ask me if the A/C or power windows work or about the electronic terrain response control system or any of that other nonsense. This is a great little truck and I use it on a regular basis. on and off road and it runs and functions fine. but it is a 40 year old machine. so no warranties are given or implied. I would encourage a personal inspection. If you would like to see more photos. email me and I will send you a link.

The truck is located in rural Virginia. about an hour and a half from Washington DC. The only reason I am selling this truck is because I need a larger pick-up suitable for towing.

Payment: non refundable deposit of $500 by PayPal within 24 hrs. of auction close. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance within 72 hours of the close of the auction. Payment by cash (in person). bank wire transfer or certified check (note: checks will be held for 10 days prior to release of vehicle). Pick up in person or shipping arrangements to be made by the buyer. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have the truck advertised locally.

This post looks quite old- did you end up selling the pickup? What type of hitch is on it?

Thanks
