1293 Mini sportspack replica. Massive Spec.

For sale is my classic 1985 mini Mayfair. It was my first car. and I've owned it for over 8 years. bringing it to the high standard it is now. Literally every nut and bolt is new. It has always been garaged while I've owned it. If you want a car for this show season – this is the one. All the hard work has been done. it just needs someone to actually use it – it's a waste just sitting in my garage!

Bodywork:

Rust free shell. resprayed in ford imperial blue. I have fitted a new front end – wings. front panel. mk1 bonnet and A panels using genuine panels. This work was done 5 years ago and is showing no signs of rust. I fitted a new genuine rear subframe and the front is a mint condition one I refurbished. The sportpack arches are the genuine rover items. not the bendy rubber ones. All the rubber seals for the windows are new and the front and rear screens are properly bonded in. The door windows have had the runners replaced and painted to prevent them rusting again. The mk1 grille is the “good one” from minispares but I have rebuilt the backing plates with stainless steel. The entire underside of the car is stonechipped and painted.

Brakes and suspension:

Front brakes are minispares 4 pot alloy callipers with 8. 4” vented discs with mintex black pads. Rears are minifin drums. All solid brake lines are new and the flexibles are all braided Goodrich items. All suspension arms have been rebuilt. Instead of rubber donuts this car has minitastic coil springs. which transform the ride and won't need replacing! Shocks are spax adjustables. I have also fitted a rear anti roll bar. All wheel bearings are genuine Timken items – a must with 7x13 wheels. The wheels themselves are supertrax satin black in 7x13 with the correct nuts.

Engine and gearbox:

1293 with an MED fast road head. Rebuilt with all new high quality bearings. oil pump etc. Swiftune SW5 cam. Minispares ultralight verto flywheel and turbo clutch. HIF 44 carb with K&N filter. Rebuilt and with needle to suit engine. Megajolt mappable ignition system. Maniflow LCB manifold and single box exhaust system. The gearbox has been build to last. with all new genuine baulk rings. seals and bearings. The diff is a minispares X-pin. . and the final drive is a 3. 44.

Interior:

Autoplas centre clock dash. with body – coloured inserts. Speedo is matched to the final drive so it reads correctly. All the other clocks are ETB electronic items. Heater is the later plastic body type with the larger ducts that actually works! Switches have been moved to a new pod on the right to clean up the look of the dash and make room for the alpine head unit. The carpet is a genuine MPi moulded item. Door cards are  black vinyl from newton commercial. Head liner is custom made by me. Finished in a dark grey. Seats are cobra clubman vinyl buckets with cream trim and 4 point black harnesses.   Door furniture is alloy – mostly “red umbrella” apart from the door releases. which I've never been able to find. It is fitted with a cobra cat 1 alarm.

As you can see. the car has a massive spec list and has been well loved by me over the years. I've had thousands of miles and hours of fun with it and I wish I could keep it. However. I don't use it enough and the time has come to move on. I have just fitted a new alarm as the old one had broken. the only bad point is the fuel gauge doesn't work – I've tried new senders and gauges and it still doesn't.
