1971 SAAB 96 V4. tax exempt. 10 months M. O. T. . low mileage. classic car.

I am looking for a good home for my pride and joy.

I bought it two years ago out of  nostalgia for the happy days in the 1970's when I owned my very first SAAB and fell in love with the marque.

It had been dry stored for restoration since 2008. It looks beautiful and has a sound body. It does have some evidence of welding. primarily to the floor pan. but I bought it because this is relatively minor and has been done very professionally.

It is a low mileage car having done only 68. 00 miles.

It has a fully functional freewheel and a new clutch.

When not in use it is kept in my garage.

In order to give the car a new lease of life I have refurbished the braking system including new discs. pads and flexible hoses. new calliper pistons and seals. new slave cylinders. shoes and springs. master cylinder seals and a replacement fluid reservoir.

The clutch system has also been refurbished with new seals to the master and slave cylinders and a new flexible hose.

The ignition system has been improved with the fitting of electronic ignition to a replacement distributor with new rotor. cap. leads and plugs.

The battery is new.

The fuel system has been improved with the fitting of a new fuel pump. new flexible fuel hoses and clips. new fuel filter. new air cleaner. a manual choke conversion to the carburettor which has been cleaned and rebuilt.

Catalytic fuel beads for unleaded fuel have been placed in the fuel tank and the fuel cap is a locking Waso.

The car has a Jetex exhaust system.

The engine was drained and flushed before fitting a new oil filter and re-filling with fresh oil and Prolong oil additive.

The gearbox was drained and refilled with Castrol EP SAE 80 and Prolong transmission additive.

The front wheel hubs have been packed with grease and all steering nipples greased.

The radiator and block were drained and flushed prior to refilling with all-year round coolant.

The washer bottle and pump have been replaced together with the windscreen wipers.

All the seats and runners have been replaced.

Original specification Klippan static front seat belts have been fitted. Additional static rear seat belts have also been fitted.

The steering wheel and horn assembly have been replaced.

The wooden boot floor has been replaced.

The car has five excellent all terrain tyres.

I have a Haynes Manual. a full professional Workshop Manual and many spare parts.

Why am I selling it? I'm in two minds about that but I do need a new challenge.

I reserve the right to withdraw this car from auction if it is sold earlier elsewhere.

Good afternoon, do you still own the Saab? If so, are you still interested in selling it? Best wishes
