This is a beautiful. fully restored 1973 Triumph Stag with both tops. This car has the Rover 3. 5L 231ci all aluminum V8. and automatic overdrive transmission. This car has 48. 75 original miles. There have been now three owners since new.

The history of this Triumph begins at Reedman Triumph/Jaguar/Land Rover in Langhorne. PA. who originally sold this car. The first owner was from Vineland New Jersey. The original owner drove this car very occasionally. and in 1988 parked it in the garage where it sat for the next 13 years. In 2001. it sold through the Stag Club of America.  It was an un-restored original car with 34. 77 miles. The new owner had a few other Triumphs including two Stags in the seventies and early eighties and was very familiar with the Stag models.

After driving this Triumph for the next three years. the 2nd owner decided to have this car undergo a full restoration in 2004. Over the course of the next five years. this Stag was gone over from top to bottom. The engine. trans and rear were removed. along with all of the suspension and steering components. and everything else that unbolted underneath the car. The interior was completely removed as well. The body was stripped down and prepped. At that time. all of the paint was original. and there was no previous or existing body or accident damage. The entire car was refinished in the original factory enamel Sienna color. including the engine bay. The undercarriage floor pan was also prepped and coated. The bumper chrome is original. but nearly all other bright trim pieces you see on this car are actually the original stainless steel. The alloy wheels were all sent out and refurbished to new condition.

The interior was fully gutted and refurbished. The seats were reconditioned and the carpeting was replaced. The dash. door panels and all other interior trim was either replaced or refurbished. A full new canvas convertible top was also installed. This is a very comfortable and clean interior.

The engine is the Buick (ROVER) 231 all aluminum V8 that was briefly produced for Triumph. Apparently there were a few different engines used by Triumph in the Stag. and from what I understand this was far and away the best and most desirable power plant available. This Stag has an extra high capacity aluminum radiator made specifically for this car. and is twice as thick as the original. It also has an electric fan. There are no cooling concerns with this Triumph whatsoever.

The transmission is a rebuilt unit with overdrive. which means this car can be driven comfortably at highway speeds. The independent rear was rebuilt with new gears. bearing. and seals and reinstalled. and the CV axle assemblies were both replaced.

Nearly all of the undercarriage components are new and very clean. except the rear suspension lower control arms and the steering rack. which were rebuilt and refurbished. All of the brake components have been replaced. and there are stainless brake lines as well. All of the suspension and steering joints. bushings and hardware are new. There is a complete set of Michelin tires on this car that are like new. The exhaust system was completely replaced with stainless pipes and mufflers.

The restoration was completed in 2009. and this car has been driven 6000 miles since then. Expenses totaled over $38. 00. This Stag has been stored in a heated aircraft hangar during the duration of ownership. and it has never seen a single drop of rain. A few years have passed since the restoration. and the car looks beautiful with only some minor flaws and now resides in Dallas. TX with me. Unfortunately there is no documentation that passed on to me.

There is some minor pitting on the original bumpers and re-chrome would return them to show condition.  There is also an intermittent short in the horn and radio wiring.
