This is our Triumph Stag 1978 ‘S' Mk2 manual overdrive. in Carmine red with black hood. with matching Carmine hard top. and black interior.

Extensive restoration about 10 years ago largely using new old stock parts. Bought by us from E J Ward about 7 years ago as the very best that we could find on the market at the time. and enjoyed every year since. Now for sale due to an E-type project.

Whilst retaining a standard appearance both externally and internally. along with the standard engine and manual overdrive gearbox. this car benefits from a number of subtle modifications. including a microwave alarm. full remote central locking including the boot (normally a weak spot). 4 x dipped and main Cibie headlights. lowered suspension with gas dampers and polyurethane bushes. Kenlowe fan. tubular exhaust manifolds and stainless steel exhaust. electronic ignition. oil pressure gauge. interior light delay and extra storage illumination. third brake light (above the reg plate). burr oak veneer dash with Kenwood radio/CD/USB/iPod connection/Bluetooth & electric aerial. and of course a matching Boscreen to protect against buffetting with the hood down.

The restoration involved the engine. transmission. body. interior trim. and hood frame and cover. Since we've owned it. we've fitted new Uniroyals (still brand new). a new diff (the previous one whined). master cylinders. servo. alternator and radiator & hoses. and a new modified clutch which now suffers none of the usual judder issues. A lot of the under bonnet parts were replaced under insurance as a result of an engine bay fire caused by rags left after the clutch was changed. No damage was done externally. but the engine bay was resprayed and the underbonet loom was replaced as well. along with the radiator and battery as a precaution. It's been serviced every year. and has always had Millers Oils Classic Sport 20w50 since we've owned it.

The restoration work has been done to an extremely high standard. and the paintwork is some of the best I've seen on a Stag. The hood and frame work well and it's an easy job to raise or lower the hood. The underside is clean and sealed. with no rot whatsoever. and copper brake pipes throughout.

The car drives extremely well. with a lot of torque. and runs cool all the time - we've NEVER seen it overheat. The suspension modifications make it precise and fun. but it still has a very comfortable ride. It's a shame to sell it. and we offer it for sale with heavy hearts. but the E-type project means we should ideally sell the Stag  this year. It's been shared between myself and my Dad (and my husband has one for himself too).

Please note the steering wheel and radio shown in the pictures will be replaced with the Kenwood and the standard wheel before sale.

Very good Stags are regularly advertised for £20. 00 to £21. 00. so our price seems reasonable given its condition. list of new parts. and service record. and we are of course open to offers near to the asking price.
It will be sold with tax and MOT.

If you are after a stunning but very useable Stag to enjoy straight away. this is definitely one to consider - it's ready to go! I hope you like it. We certainly have.

Wish to know more? Please ring me on 01484 847120. I can send any number of photos. and of course we are available if you choose to come and view.

Thanks for looking

Caroline
