Seller's notes: "This is a used car that is ~47 years old, unrestored. It needs a mechanical inspection before you drive it on the road. There is minor rust through on the trunk edge in both back corners as shown in the photos. Other areas of rust are present. I highly advise direct inspection of the car before bidding. Call Tom Cotter to arrange this viewing."

1967 Shelby Mustang GT 500 Barn-Find 34. 00 mile Time capsule Z67410F7A02800

This GT 500 is a very special car. a true barn-find.   It is nearly 100-percent correct and original.   It should be purchased by a Shelby connoisseur who appreciates the value of a correct vehicle.

This car can either be kept and used as is. or is an ideal candidate for a very proper Concourse-correct restoration.   The car is a time capsule and includes many of the date-code correct parts and pieces that restorers usually chase for years.

This Shelby has been featured in the following media: Hemi in the Barn book by Tom Cotter. It's Only Original Once book by Richard Lentinello. Cover of January. 2008 Hemming's Motor News. Featured on Barrett-Jackson Television. Displayed at Saratoga Auto Museum “Barn-Find” exhibit.

Purchased 10 years ago from second owner. a woman. who purchased it from the original owner in 1968. Built 6. 17. 67. shipped to Lewis Ford in Gastonia. NC. . 6/21/67.  Engine block was cracked when at the dealership. so it received a new factory replacement 8/4/67 (see SAAC register). 428 Cobra Jet. original engine tag. Correct twin Holley Carbs. original tags. Air cleaner (date coded). Correct intake manifold #C7ZX9425–A. Many hose clamps under the hood are original “Wittek” tower clamps (date coded). Last registered in 1981.

Automatic. Power steering. Power brakes. Original AM radio. Original wooden steering wheel and horn button. Correct and original seatbelts and shoulder harnesses (date coded). Five original ten-spoke Shelby wheels. Three original Goodyear E-70 X 15 Speedway tires. jack. handle. spare tire rod and nut and trunk liner. Original “Plaza Fiberglass” decal under hood (very rare). We removed the original distributor points and condenser because they were so burned. but they are safe in a Zip-lock bag. Original Lime Gold paint is worn. Superficial rust along bottom edges of both doors. Small rust holes at trunk rim. The interior is all original but shows its age from years of storage. The upholstery is excellent except for two seam separations in the driver's seat. We kept this car as we found it because it is so original. The owner had replaced the gas tank just before we bought the car because of rust. Engine starts and runs. but is loud because original mufflers and exhaust are shot.        This Shelby is always a “hit” at SAAC meets. as judges thoroughly examine the car in order to correctly judge restored GT500s.

I reserve the right to cancel this eBay auction at any time for any reason. Sold as is. Shipping is the buyer's expense and we can help with that.
