1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport Big Block 454 LOW RESERVE

 Original Super Sport . Was straight six with three on the tree from factory. Newly rebuilt 454 engine. Original crank. rods and pistons. All new bearings. rings. oil pump. timing gear & chain. timing cover. oil pan. front damper. flex plate. and Energy Suspension motor and tranny mounts. Block honed. Comp 11-205-3 cam. Edelbrock Performer 750 CFM carburetor. Edelbrock Performer Intake manifold. Heads are closed chamber giving about 9. 5:1 compression. HEI distributor with new wires and spark plugs. TH400 Auto tranny. New custom driveshaft. Totally rebuilt 12 bolt posi rear differential. All new rear control arm bushings. New front and rear sway bars. All new front suspension bushings. ball joints. idler arm. and connecting linkage. Converted from column shifter to floor console. OEM console with OEM shifter. Shifter has correct detents for the TH400. Correct steering column for floor shifter. New heater motor. New heater core. Rebuilt/restored wiper motor. Console clock ( converted to quartz movement) California rust free front fenders. New three core aluminum radiator. All new hoses and belts. New steering gear box and power steering pump. New chrome engine pulleys. New carpet and seat upholstery front and rear. New tail light lenses. New front directional housings and lenses. New 2-1/2" exhaust with OEM cast iron exhaust manifolds. American Racing Torque Thrust mags. New 275-60-15 rear tires and new 245-60-15 front tires. All the glass is good. Custom steering wheel. Good battery. New Gas tank and sending unit. New direct read gauge package (oil. water temp. volts). New Tachometer. AM/FM Cassette player (needs antenna. I just couldn't bring myself to bore a hole in those nice fenders) Rare OEM dash pad. Factory vacuum gauge built into dash. Four wheel disc brakes. Seat belts front and rear. 55xxx miles. less than 100 miles on work done. Trunk lid got sun spots in the clear. but I'll buff that out once it's warmer. Over 20k invested. More pix available on request. Email  for more photos.

OK I've had  some questions on specifics. It's always easy to list all the good things about an item you are selling. And sometimes one gets so wrapped up in that. that they often forget that the item is not perfect. So. what's wrong with the car? Well not much.  I'm sure that if I wanted to go over this car with a fine tooth comb. I'd find some paint chips. In fact I know that there is one on the drivers side. Also I know that to be "perfect" the rear cove molding could be replaced (grey is correct for a black super sport) as this is slightly dented but not excessively. (photos on request) A kit is available from Classic Industries for about $625.  Also the rear package tray was recovered. not replaced but again one can be had for about $25. Also the drivers side vent window needs a nudge to get going but then works fine. The frame is solid although you might find some weld slag on it from various modifications I made and then removed. This is an old car it is NOT perfect nor is it a show car. But it is a very nice driver quality car and I've tried to price it accordingly. You can go to Hagerty's web site and look up a value on these. I'd estimate that it is not (but close to) a grade three. but definitely not a grade four. That value is between $11. 00 and $17. 00 according to Hagerty.  My reserve is $10. 00. That's what I paid for it five years ago. I've put a ton of money into it to correct the last owner's screw-ups. but that's not your problem. it's just the way I am. So that's the rest of the story as well as I can tell it.
