VERY UNIQUE TR250! ONE OF ONLY 8. 80 THAT CAME TO AMERICA! FINISHED IN STUNNING TRIUMPH RACING GREEN! RARER THAN AN MGB. TR4 OR TR6! SPECIFICATIONS Year 1968 Make Triumph Model TR250 VIN CD1234L Mileage 6. 69 Engine 2. 5L Cylinders Inline 6 Transmission 4-Speed Manual Title Clear Color Triumph Racing Green Interior Color Black DESCRIPTION The Triumph TR250 was introduced in 1967 as the American alternative to the TR5. Produced for only 15 months. this US-only car was cosmetically identical to the European-market TR5 and even had the same 2. 5L Inline 6. The difference between the two was fuel delivery. Whereas the TR5 had a very advanced (and almost prototype) fuel injection set-up. the TR250 retained a more traditional method. instead opting for twin Zenith-Stromberg 175 CD 2 carburetors. The 250 produced 111 hp. which was plenty for a car weighing only 2. 65 pounds! The car did 0-60 in just over 10 seconds and really came alive in the corners. thanks to an independent rear suspension! The car had a base retail of $3. 95 when it went on sale for the 1968 model year and 8. 80 cars made their way over to America.

We are thrilled to offer this 1968 Triumph TR250! Finished in a stunning shade of Triumph Racing Green. this car is nicely complemented with a Black leatherette interior with white seat piping! The car also has a walnut dash. Factory appointed equipment includes full synchromesh 4-speed manual gearbox. full gauge instrumentation. leather wrapped wheel. power front disc brakes and driver-side mirror. Options on this particular car include wire wheels ($118 option) with Michelin 185 x 15 red line tires. heater and a laminated windscreen! This car has since been fitted with a Kenwood cassette audio system with 4 Pioneer speakers.

This car was originally built on October 30. 1967 and was shipped on November 20th from King Dock in Kingston-Upon-Hull to Leyland Motor Corporation of North America in San Francisco on the Sienna vessel. The car lived in California for 46 years and still retains its original CA blue plates! We have a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate for this car that indicates its current colors and options to match the car when new. The car was painted several years ago and as a result of modern paint technologies. retains a magnificent shine. The chrome also appears to have been done at about this time; it is not only shiny but also smooth to the touch with no pitting. The tires and weather stripping also appear to have been replaced very recently. The car will show minor wear from being lovingly owned and driven but looking at the kickplates and seat bolsters will give you an idea of how much the car has been respected. The car is showing 6. 69 miles. which we believe may be reset since an engine rebuild but cannot verify. so this vehicle will be sold mileage exempt. The transmission is very crisp and the clutch is light and engages confidently.

This TR250 presents a unique opportunity for the classic car enthusiast to own something a little more unique than an MGB or TR4/6. Of the 8. 80 cars built. less than 700 are known to exist. with a good handful making their way back to the UK and other parts of the world. We would be more than happy to answer any additional questions on this TR250! Thanks for looking!

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Carrie Pepper, dated 15 july 2016
My brother died in Vietnam. His dream was to have a British Racing Green TR4. I have a license plate made and will eventually put it on a TR4. His name was Tony. The plate reads: TR4TONY. I don't (yet) have $30k to spend, but one day . . . just wanted to say hello! Carrie
