Maserati Biturbo Spyder 1986 black/tan for sale
Current customer rating: (427 votes ) based onThis is a 1986 Biturbo Spyder with dual turbos. It has a 2. 5 Liter V6 engine. Odometer reads 52. 90. It's easy to make sweeping statements about a car's condition - but as we all know - the devil is in the detail. I am willing to provide as much detail as possible. so here's a go at it. Please ask questions!
The condition of the chassis is extraordinarily good. To begin with. the car is rust-free thanks to climate-controlled storage. It has made a world of difference. No body panel has rust or any corrosive damage. The car has been carefully examined. The car has never been in an accident. There is no frame damage or stress of any kind. It has not been stored in. or exposed to cold weather. The condition of the paint does reflect its age (as seen under ultraviolet light). However. the shine remains superb thanks to relying on Zymol "Ital" glaze with 47% Brazilian carnauba wax. One of my photos shows the 20 foot ceiling's reflection on the hood. This wax resists just about anything including sun damage. Inspection of rear view mirrors mounted on the doors shows excellent condition of the plastic. trim. and mirror. The plastic rear window is also clear and the stitching has no defect.
The interior of the car is also excellent. Take note of the condition of the instrument cowl. and the wood trim (crisp edges and no warping or fading). The convertible top fits nicely but is a bit tight-ftting at this time (needs use to loosen it up). The seats are in very good condition. Not just relative for their age. but very good - period. The plastic in the a/c vents and control buttons is sound but may be developing brittleness (they are coated with "conditioners" to keep them safe). The windshield glass is superb. Clean etched lines. Excellent visibility. No nicks or damage. The windows are in very good condition.
The wheels are in good condition with minor signs of wear and tear. The tires are in good shape. However. I strongly recommend mounting new tires because the current ones have been sitting still too long since car is under driven. I would get expert opinion to decide whether to keep current tires or not.
The electricals are in good condition thanks to climate-controlled storage. I include a photo of a circuit board to give you a detailed viewpoint.
The car has just had its oil sump cleaned out completely (it had no sludge). The oil filter is new. The air filter is new and I have another one.
Here's the bottom line: you can "save" money by buying a cheaper car only to spend more money returning it to good condition rather than buying this excellent car. Why waste time and money "restoring" to normal operation? Take this car to a higher level of performance instead.
I am putting together a detailed report with more photos so that I can email to interested bidders.
Nearly forgot to mention - brand new Sears DieHard Platinum battery $229. 99 with 850 cold cranking amps & high performance features.
Additional technical manuals included are: Service Manual (diagrams and how-to). Parts Catalogue RICAMB1 (parts & diagrams). Electric Systems MABC 2500 + large foldout blueprint of electrical schematics 41x28 inches.
