1966 Ford Crayford Cortina Super GT  MK1

 

OUTSIDE

Original blue colour car. The car has all its chrome all in very good condition. Front quarter bumpers grill light surrounds side trims rear bumper and rear light surrounds boot trim windscreen and wing mirrors all in good condition. Has a set of mini lights fitted all with good tyres. The car has a few original badges fitted such as the Crayford badge on the rear and the Crayford Clubs badge fitted on the grill. Has Super badges on the rear quarters as well. The roof is tatty and needs work as it's come away from the frame work inside as it seems original. Also I have the tourno cover for the roof.  The rear quarter windows both work and fold into the body.   I've had a good look around the car and for the age of this and considering what it is the paint and body are in very good condition and there are no real signs of rust anywhere.

 

INSIDE

The car is unreal it's like a time warp all original apart from the old stereo someone fitted. Seats are all in good condition both front seats fold up also has fixed seat belts. Full black vinyl interior seats door cards dash. The clocks are all black with chrome bezels. Original steering wheel as well. Has the Crayford badge on the roof lining. All the trim is original just a good car that's not been tampered with.

 

ENGINE

Very good 1500 pre X flow GT engine it is the cars original engine and also has the original gearbox. The engine and box are perfect car starts on the button runs and drives great no smoke no whines. May want a new battery as this is an old one fitted.

 

SUMMERY

I've looked at the inner wings boot floor strut tops seals chassis legs under the rear seat and all is solid. This car has really had very little welding all i came across was a patch under the rear foot well other than that looks solid all over.

This is a very rare and original car. I have 17 MOT certificates oldest being 1979 I have receipts from everything from previous buyers to works carried out. Old pictures photos of the car in it original condition copy of the original log book. It seems they have kept most of the paperwork with this car over some of the owners and the cars been lovingly kept. Now I'm sure allot of you saw this car for sale and missed the chance to buy it well you're in luck as here it is again BUT bear in mind this really will e your last chance to buy a very rare Cortina your unlikely to see another for sale. Now the Crayford MK1 is rare however a 1500 Super GT IS Very very rare as is the Lotus so the question is how badly you do want to own one.

 

The one thing I will say and I'm sure most are aware the car will need to be RE-REGISTERED in the UK.

 

Now I'm sure even with all the pictures and the long description there will be questions I'll do my best to answer them all. Viewings for serious buyers are a must. I've done my best to describe this car but bear in mind its 20 years older than i am and will need some work light restoration maybe whatever level the new owner sees fit to do. At the very least will need the electrics going over and rubber bushes etc for MOT purposes. Now I'd like to say the car will stay listed HOWEVER a serious buyer may convince me otherwise. Remember this WILL be your last chance I'm guessing to own a real original Crayford MK1.
