Welcome to the auction of my Karmann Ghia. As you can see its low and ratty but solid where it counts. Its a joy to drive and has it's picture taken where ever it goes. It was featured in Dave Warrens 2014 calendar and has also appeared in Volksworld and ultra vw mag.
About the car
It is running a 1600cc engine with twin carbs. recently set up. It has a 5" narrowed beam and air shocks upfront the back has been lowered too. The paint work has been clear lacquered so it retains the look but with a nice dull sheen to it. It has a custom tow bar fitted but this just unbolts. (I used to tow a pop up caravan with it). The interior is unusual but I feel it suits the car. If it needs anything I would say a good carpet and maybe replace the dash pad (£60 from just Kampers). It has never let me down and will be sad to see it go but I have decided to look for something else.
The ghia was imported in 2012 from the usa and therefore nice and solid. I have all the paperwork that involves the imports etc.
You will notice that I have changed the wheels it used to run smith turbos painted in white (in most pictures) but now sits on a nice pair of Iron cross which are rare in this finish.
The car is located in Basingstoke/Reading/Newbury area and viewing is welcome at anytime. A £200 deposit must be paid within12hours of the auction finishing and the remaining by cash or bank transfer.
As mentioned I'm looking for a new toy but must be aircooled. I do have the Ghia advertised elsewhere so may end auction early. Also the winning price is what you pay! No silly offers I know what it's worth.
