1959 Triumph TR3A. Show Winning California Car

This is a fabulous TR3A that has been professionally restored from the frame up. It has been in California all its life and was a very solid car before being totally taken apart and rebuilt component by component. It is a very correct restoration to factory standards and done in our shop. It has been completed for about 2 years and driven about 1000 miles only since. mostly to out local club breakfasts and runs to different shows and events. The California body was very good. The floors were replaced but all other panels are factory original. The car has its original numbers matching engine according to the Heritage Certificate which records this car as having been built on July 23rd. 1959. It is stunning in its factory original color of “Powder Blue” with a dark blue leather interior and has won numerous shows including Triumphest 2011.

All chassis components have been rebuilt including the front and rear suspension and the rear differential. All were painted or powder coated when apart. The transmission has been upgraded to a Toyota 5 speed for California freeway driving. The shifter location is exactly the same as stock. The original 4 speed transmission is included if desired.
The engine was rebuilt prior to me getting the car and it runs very well. It starts easily on the choke and smoothes out to a strong running engine with no noise or smoke. The carburetors were rebuilt and synchronized. All gauges and lighting are working like new and there is a hidden electric fan for California motoring on hot days. The wheels are brand new chrome wires with Michelin radial tires.
The body of this car was entirely stripped to bare steel and then primed and painted on a rotisserie so the floors are as nice underneath as the body is on top which was of course color sanded and polished. A lot of attention was paid to the proper fit of all the panels and doors and it shows. The grill and all the chrome pieces were new or NOS.
The interior was redone with top quality leather and trim pieces. The carpets are Wilton wool and all the interior trim is in leather or matching blue vinyl as appropriate. The convertible top. tonneau and hoodstick covers are all in blue Stayfast fabric for a deluxe look and feel. The side curtains have also been restored and are blue Stayfast as well.
This car attracts a lot of attention with its high quality restoration and it very attractive original color scheme. I own a British car restoration shop and this was our personal car for the past couple of years. I am now completing one of our XK Jaguars and so the Triumph must move along. We also have a nice TR250 to drive. We have the car advertised elsewhere and reserve the right to remove it from ebay. Please feel free to contact me for more photos of specific areas or for a knowledgeable chat.

 Cheers. Dave in Ventura California
