1958 Austin Healey Sprite Bugeye with low vin number

Rare early production 1958 Austin Healey Sprite also called Frogeye and Bugeye

True Barn find car. was storaged last 35 years!! 

Low VIN number. has a serial number under #4600. 1958 was the 1st year of manufacture for the Mark I Sprite from England.

Comes with soft top. I have been warming it in the sun. It has been folded for 35 years and needs gentle handling. Comes with tonneau cover -- again stored all this time. but in great shape. it has roll bar. Front bonnet is nearly perfect. no serious dents or dings. will need floor pans-- drivers side has a 6" X 6" rust spot near the throttle pedal. and the battery tray has the usual rust issues. has typical bubbles on the lower "A" pillers and such. doors look good.

Comes with a 948cc motor.  It has a riveted ID number in place and is unmolested (9A U-H 27XXX. appears to be from an Austin 30). This motor includes dual carbs (still bolted to the head and never removed). early distributor cap and wires. stamped rear engine plate. fuel pump. and such. Engine  and ribbed case transmission removed by previous owner in 1969 and placed on the floor of garage and not touched again for 35 years!   Have 2 new door skins and some extra patch panels too. I added the metal cross bar to hold the windshield stations in place IT is NOT part of the car.   Please also note that I have purchased a windshield frame and will include pictures when the frame arrives. I also just purchased the metal side curtains for the car and will include pictures of them when they arrive. I also just purchased a rear view mirror that fits the top of the dash.

Has folding seat frames. Dash is intact with original gauges. including original ignition switch and original chrome grab handle. hard to find generator driven tachometer. Including original wiper motor. original smith heater. original radiator in great shape. etc has boxes of stuff like an original jack. the two air cleaners housings.

Easy restoration!  Engine and transmission have been removed by previous owner. I recommend that they be gone through before it will run. Make no mistakes this car needs a full restoration to be road ready.
